i just had a good look at your new images from the flower show, and you get a nice score of 95%; not 100% because of 2 small things which you can read about in my comments.
that's excellent!
BRAVO!!!

hiya gellidius!
i'm walking on droplets of water in clouds! what wonderful praise! thanx. i had a number of duds and they didn't get into dA, needless to say. they can't all be picasso-s.
i haven't been around very much lately as i'm sure you've noticed. i have spinal stenosis and i've been going for spinal epidurals which aren't very effective for me, i'm sorry to say. i'll probably have to go for surgery as the pain gets nasty. i'm going to try to do some garden photography and Lucy pics now. Lucy is my 4 month old gorgeous Havanese puppy and i totally adore her (can you tell)? hubby and i just gave her a bath--she got filthy at a dog park this morning and her white hair turned brown. not a good look for grandma and grandpa this weekend, lol.
btw, i really appreciate your comments, as always. i'll try to see your newer artwork by tomorrow.
your friend,
lynne

i've just had a look at the first page of your work, and i would like to suggest that you review most of them and make them darker, as they are too light and, because of that, lack in detail, mainly in whites, also this dilutes the colors and makes them less rich.
always adjust contrast so that you will see all the necessary detail in highlights and also in the shadows.
hope this helps.

you should always aim for an image that, when done properly, will look tri-dimentional, like if you were watching it through a window; it has depth and seems so real...
my image named "tree leaves" is not an image that show a scene with near and far elements, and yet, one gets a very good sense of depth watching it, the "as if you were there" feeling.
this only comes from good detail everywhere, good contrast, color and sharpness.

thanx for your input. i've posted some pics from the Philadelphia Flower Show and i will post more when i have the time during the week. i'd like your opinions on them as well. the lighting there is very difficult to work with and it was very hard to compensate for it. i tried my best to deal with it under the circumstances.
as always, i value your opinions and comments.
hope you are well and all is good.

thanx gellidius. i just got a new olympus digital slr and it's going to take a while for me to learn how to use it but i'll learn. i am serious because i want to produce the best image of what my eyes see and then share it with everyone. isn't that what it's all about? at least that's it for me. i enjoy nature shots mostly--there's so much out there to be explored, and, of course, my parrot is always a favorite of mine. i'd like to get outside but it's still too cold for me. brrr

You like? We love to cook, so we thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite dishes.
My bf is also an aspiring musician, so it's also a place to showcase his work. But mostly it's something we do for fun.

oh, don't get me wrong, i love most music but georgie and i groove mostly to classic rock.

He is a composer. He can play piano, and he also has a guitar. He makes all of the music on our cooking channel.
And for me, I have a very diverse taste in music. I like Evanescence, Santana, The Doors, just to name a few. I also like Jazz, Native American music, and Rock. It really just depends on what kind of a mood I'm in.
Georgie likes Jazz, like Miles Davis, Brian Culbertson, or Rick Braun, just to name a few, it's calming to her.

no, not at this time. since our entire backyard is garden there's no place for a dog to play or run. unless it's a toy chihuahua. hehehehe
we do have a long-haired guinea pig named munchkin and there's a couple of pix of him on dA so look in my gallery

You know dogs really don't need that much space, as long as you can take them for regular walks it's all good. We live in an apartment, and look how big Lucky is. He's a happy little guy.
I'll go look for your little Munchkin.

Well, he's cute. He is an aspiring musician, writer, he draws, he's very artistic. He is a good cook, um...... I don't know what else to say about him. He is a little bit my junior (more than a little bit actually ) We met at work, became good friends, and it's almost been five years since we started seeing each other. I like him, he's a gentleman. And he's very good to me. We enjoy just being together, it doesn't really matter what were doing.
What about your honey? How did you guys meet, etc?

we met on an Audubon bird society bird walk at the Jamaica Bay wildlife refuge near JFK airport. hot, humid summer morning and i looked like crap. had to pull my hair into a pony tail, ratty old t-shirt, stained shorts, torn sneakers, no make-up. tres cool. well, this was the first walk he had ever been on even tho he'd been on the Board of the chapter. one of the gals that i hung out with said, 'lynne, that guy is eyeing you' so i said, 'if he has any balls, he'll talk to me'. when we walked to the fresh water pond he came over to me and his big line was, 'what's that big black bird over there?' and of course i had the correct answer. 'why that's a glossy ibis'. i had to see if he was attracted to the intelligent type of our sex. we ended up going out to lunch together after the walk and have been together ever since. every day. the end.

Yes. when he asked me if i wanted a waterfall, stream or pond i said, "yes". so we incorporated all three into the garden and made it into a circuit so there's no waste. it gets filtered and zapped at the pond so the water is purified for the fish and the birds.
i couldn't see the point of having all that grass in the middle of the yard. i wanted thousands of flowers and i got them. lots of hard work but we love the results. the only grass is the pathways. we also have a vegetable and herb garden in the rear of the garden near the dogwood tree where Georgie likes to hang. it's all nature and natural. no artificial anything especially pesticides.
we're very green in this family.

not very big at all. our whole lot is about 70x120 but the garden is wider in the rear than the front of the property. we live in a suburb of NYC and it's densely populated. i hate it. can't wait till hubby retires and we can move to a more rural location. i need room away from neighbors and noise. i like my privacy, too.
