# About me

I have begun writing my own Sci-Fi stories in 2003 and always had the idea of bringing my fantasies to life through other means than just text, but the cost of the programs to do that stopped that almost everytime. (I took a look at Blender 2.49, said "DAFUQ?" a couple of times and never touched that program again^^)
After I got my first job and upgraded my PC properly, I suddenly had the money available to buy this Software. So i got myself VUE 8 Complete and experimented a little bit with it and created my first Renderings.
Then I tried the first visualizations of scenes in my Stories and needed another program to do the modeling.
Again I bumped into the Money-Problem (A HD-Camcorder, PostFX-Software, Vue 8 Complete and several other things I bought for a short film I wanted to make emptied my walet and I finally had a place at a University) and abandoned digital Art for several months.
Then I began a new Story.
I wanted to SEE with my eyes and not only in my head, what the ship in the story would look. So I tried several programs (including Blender 2.62, which is much better, but still strange) and made my first models in Sketchup.
I got the models into Vue, put them into nice looking environments, experimented with the clouds and the lightning and hit the Render-Button.
BOOM! Mind->Blown! It was so damn easy, that I asked myself why I didn't do it before. My movie-project seemed lightyears closer now!
But VUE lacks the necessary tools for some of the sequences I had in mind.
So i finally bought a book to learn Blender and now I am trying to learn this monster that will render the bulk of the scenes, while I will use VUE for Matte-Paintings, or sequences where I need the Vue-Exclusive features like Ecosystems.

Hang in there! Blender is an amazing and very potent tool. Keep at it, and you'll be putting some really impressive stuff out soon enough. I like what you've been able to crank out so far. :3

Your first arts have a cool feeling. I love how you make the atmospheres, the sea of clouds, etc. I am also very glad that you try again with Blender ! I have started a training on it, but like you I gave up. But I know someday I will comeback to it because it's capable of making ALL I want, much more than Sketchup (especially in term of curves, lights and particles).
Good too that you use TheGimp. I love it. It's a professional tool, no matter what some people think.

I've written some stories too (they never have an end, I just good at starting ! ) and I know how important it can be to express the content of the story into other mediums, like pictures or videos. So, keep the good work, we can feel the passion behind your art !
