It might be fun for the person who tickles, but I don't think it's the same for the one that gets tickled though ^^"

I really like the way you draw, I'd like to study it. So far my drawings are only just above amateur looking, I hope I can improve them to at least half of your level sometime. Can you give me an opinion on my latest upload? I'm trying to find a nice style to use for a platform for learning the basics of posing. And I'd like to know if this way of coloring looks good acceptable (or is it too bland)

Β Hi and thank you really much! Well as we all know only practice makes perfection, so I really hope you will get to achieve your goal someday! ^^ There is plenty of awesome people on there who spent their time to make some very very good tutorials, why not give them a look!
I think it's pretty good, and you should work more especially on shadings to my advice.
Good luck!Β Β

I'll definitely look into those tutorials you mentioned.
Though, my current stance with my lack of true shading is that I have this weird priority of consistency over indication. See between school, work, and being on the road 4 hours a day, I don't get much time to actually sit down, get in the zone and practice
Petty much: I'm afraid of getting things to be too detailed because then I'd have to keep up with that which would take up more time and decrease the amount of time I could be producing content. This, however, has been a problem of mine all my life because I have no innate talent in drawing (my talent is music and the sad part is, I'm not interested in making music because I want to draw)
I guess what I'm trying to ask is not: "What's a better way to handle shading?" but rather "How do I make this simplified way of shading refined to the best it can be?"

Even if you follow anyone's tutorial or advices, ok you can learn from them but you do it your own way. So I think it's something you gotta find out yourself. I know it can be hard... It depends on you. I also think you should just do what you enjoy and want to do regardless from the fact that you're more or less talented in it.

People keep suggesting that I try my hand at cel-shading, I can see why it is popular and liked, but it's always been hard for me to get the hang of. The thing is, though I've been practicing for 8 years now, I have no natural talent in drawing (the sad part is that my natural talent is in composing music, but I pretty much don't care about doing thing music related). Drawing for me is very very hard, but I want to do it and I want to have fun with it. That's why I opted for a shading style more akin to, let's say "Calvin and Hobbes" it allows for me to keep a consistent level of detail without letting the details make it harder for me to produce content at stable rate. Like you said, enjoying the process is a must for a skill to develop proper.
