Hi ALLEN! All is well. Great to hear from you. I was invited AGAIN recently, by none other than, if you can believe this handle: United Arab Emirates Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to appear on stage in Dubai at their annual party for the city, painting with millions of volts of electricity for an audience of box-seat (1000) world celebrities, plus a crowd of only the Gods of Providence (not R.I.) know how many, backed up with a full symphony orchestra, and with real time images of me at work shown on the largest diamond screen in world history to cover the entire side of a huge building. And get this, I wanted too much money ... oh, boo hoo, they couldn't afford me, the little kid from San Luis Obispo who only asked 100,000, having to bring a crew, plus world renowned coil maker, Bill Wysock to build a special structure on stage for the performance. Oh well ... hey, I was invited last month to throw beads in costume from the top of the "Crewe of Morepheous" gigantic float in the main Mardi Gras parade and declined, as it seemed a fuss really and they were not offering to fly me out and put me up. Also turned down the yearly private Grand Magician's Vegas Vortex Gathering, in the desert, with all great Vegas magicians, Penn and Teller, David Copperfield, and others. Only one hundred guests. Private. No booze, no drugs. Serious she-aat man. They do magic out there every year with a huge bonfire and drum circle and amazing show girls and boys and fantastic costumes. Alas, no money to afford something like that, although it would only have been gas (don't fly much anymore as all David Nelson's are on the no-fly list) and lodging, with three other nights of magic in Vegas venues where they all try to outdo each other, and even "The Witches Magic Ball!" Ha! The good news: even at nearly 70 I am not forgotten, whew. The art world is about as fickle as the latest dye job on Paris Hilton's vicious little poodle, that fuckin' dog. Thats awesome. Its good to hear from you again. I was just thinking about you because my roommate and I have been catching up on Star Trek and we always look for your painting. I've been busy with my day job lately. Trying to find time between work and art. Its hard trying to balance the two.
