Jigoku Dayu ("Lady of Hell") was a legendary courtesan and disciple of Zen iconoclast, Ikkyu. She was famous for wearing a kimono designed with scenes of Hell on it. In art, she is often depicted with skeletons, oni, and Ikkyu, himself.
