You're so right about that though, her fate always felt like the cruelest out of all characters in Homestuck. The exchange between her and Jade has particularly been painful to witness, considering that Jade couldn't wait to be reunited with her friends.
After everything Calliope was ready to sacrifice, she has been denied something as simple and humane as a little bit of company and somebody to listen to her stories, if only for a brief moment.
