The night was silent as you sat in the dark, your chin resting on your arms as you hugged your knees to your chest.
You closed your eyes, listening to the sound of chirping crickets, and waited.
As if on cue, you heard the usual soft tap against your window before it slid open. A tall, light brown haired male slipped through and landed quietly on the ground beside you before he silently closed the window.
“You’re late” you said, turning your head to look at him.
“Sorry. Eren’s such an annoying b*stard” Jean said.
“I bet you provoked him.”
Jean glared at you. “Who’s side are you on?”

“Are you sure about that?” Jean smirked as he reached out a hand to tilt your chin up towards his face.
“Hm...I’m not sure” you teased, leaning towards him.

“Koutarou?” you asked as you picked up the phone, “what’s wrong?”
“Ah, I just wanted to make sure you’re okay. Lately, there’s been a gourmet around your area and we haven’t been able to track him down” Amon replied.
“Gourmet?” you asked, “those types of ghouls actually exist? Talk about disturbing” you sighed. “But Koutarou, I’m a college freshman now. There’s no need to worry about me.”
“I know...it’s just…”
“Brotherly instinct?” you joked. “I need to go now. I’ll call you later.”

As you hung up, you sighed, looking around.
“Looking for me, beautiful girl?” a pair of hands had covered your eyes.
