👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScannerJOE In reply to Wolv3rin3 [2012-06-14 19:42:19 +0000 UTC]

Hey mate, awesome work!!

I've just downloaded the .obj file from your original helmet source (turbosquid), i want to delete all the parts of the helmet so i'm just left with a nice 3D model of the faceplate, what 3d software could i do this in?
Thanks mate
Cyber

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScannerJOE In reply to silvercryer2000 [2012-02-27 20:59:38 +0000 UTC]

I hope you had figured it out already, but anyway, you can use any 3D software because OBJ format is a standard format. I imported it into Blender, it has thousands of polygons, so you must have a good machine or a lot of patience to edit it.

Good luck with it!

En cuanto al buen trabajo, que le vamos a hacer es mi maldición (como en Sherlock Holmes II, "That's my curse!").

Hey scanner how'd you make the can for the Jam hair piece here:
[link]

I wish to cosplay as her and can't figure it out, the foam I'm using doesn't want to show the gold panit

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScannerJOE In reply to keylee [2011-11-15 20:33:23 +0000 UTC]

If you are using foam (also known as EVA) paint it first with watter diluted white glue (50-50% mix) after 3 coats the foam will shine then you can use spray paint over it. In the picture you're referring we used a real can and i printed the logo in acetate.

keylee In reply to ScannerJOE [2011-11-15 21:47:17 +0000 UTC]

Oh ok, I was going to use Elmer's Black Foam Core Board which is really hard to mode, it looks like 2-inch thick Table Padding, and the other foam I had was Gray Polyurethane(ELE)2'Sheet Foam that had been glued together into 5 layers which is easy to mode but I'm not sure if it would look like once sprayed down and am afraid that the foams natural crevices would show threw the paint. I wanted to work with what I already had first but it doesn't seem likely now
