Thanks. I like my taste in movies too. haha. I consider Mel Gibson a rare and genious movie maker. If you ever watch the behind the scenes "making of" any of his movies you'll see how dedicated he is to making his movies as realistic as possible. You don't get that alot now-a-days with all these new shitty directors.
and thanks! I take appalling as a compliment. It pleases me to disturb people. I just want people to see what I see, even if they are things people have been taught to hate or feel disgust towards.

I often wonder several things:
1. does your admiration of Mel only go as far as his directoral ability, or does his themes resonate at all? And I don't mean the explicitely religious stuff like "The Passion of the Christ"? There's the other stuff, where he is concerned with--how shall I say it--uprightness of character--like the Mad Max movies, and Braveheart--and the movie which sounds several warnings--social as well as environmental--Apocalypto.
2. assuming that your admiration extends to his themes as well as his technique, how does this dovetail with your stated aim to "disturb people"? Or are you disturbing people the way he disturbed people with the graphic content like people found Passion and Apocalypto so graphic
