I used a square brush. It seems that you used a soft round brush for your study. I've just been trying to get a feel for the square brush...

Hey Sernylo. I did a "study" of the nude painting you posted on Bebep's forum. I wanted to get a feel for how you worked through the painting. That's really the best way for me to practice right now... by studying the works of other artists. I'm not a member of the forum anymore, but I still visit it occasionally to see if anything exciting has been posted. My username on there (and on WCM) was Sarrik. I used this brush pack and the techniques that he posted in his tutorial + some techniques from other tutorials and some of my own.

Basically, i block in the base colors with a soft round brush and start blending with a hard round brush on low opacity.After that i start more blending + details + refining with my own custom blocky brush.It's sorta the same as the square brush set on a lower opacity.

I don't really like where i am with my art and the style that i do ,so i don't upload all of my work ,but the ones that do get uploaded end up on dA
Also no problem for the fav + watch. I really love your style ^_^ :3
I always wanted to have a similar style ,but my drawings always end up...dark ,grim and edgy.That's one of the reason i don't always like my work

I think you really are talented and your drawings are so cool. But If you want a more "colorful" style, I recommend you to use a limited color palette and choose neon/bright colors as base.
Btw, my drawings also share the same fate. It usually takes me a loong time to finish a work and I start spotting my mistakes in the middle of it. So, I start something new and the other one newer makes it on dA. -.-

Oh my ,you have no idea how many times that happened to me aswell xd
I would spend ,literally ,the entire day on a drawing and it would look amazing.
But then ,on the last hour or so i would manage to ruin it and save over the old PSD wich would ruin absolutely everything.
Or i just spot a fatal mistake in the anatomy or the composure/pose ,get tilted and scrap the drawing :/
And you have a great style.It's anime ,yes ,but it's not KAWAII DESU DESU I'LL MAKE UR EYES BLEED WITH LENS FLARE.Similar work to your "untitled" and "not my life..." is what got me into drawing in the first place and i'll always continue loving it ^_^

It happens to me 90% of the time. And I thought no one would believe it if I wrote "I spend my whole day on it." in artist's comments.
I use Photoshop Elements, and there is a "don't write over original file." which prevents me from ruining the whole thing. But this also have it's disadvantages such as having 7 copies of the same drawing at the end XD
I used to have that style :C. [ex.[link] ] desu~ XD I draw in anime style because I'm not talented at all (what I can draw now is the result of practicing around 3 years.) and It's only way for me to draw people. I have tried drawing semi-realistic people but my experiments always failed. Maybe I will try realism one again in the future. For now, i seems like anime is the only way for me to put what is in my mind on the canvas.
