A Manetric sat in under the trees in his usual place as he waited for his friends to arrive. Then, they would proceed to relax and chat as they do on any typical day. Darko was impatient, which was not surprising. Most Electric-types tend to be energetic and always on the go. He paced around and sniffed the air for a moment for signs of his friends aproaching. Suddenly, an Azumarill who goes by the name Taiyo crashed through the bushes.
"Hiya, Ta--," Darko started, but was interrupted.
"Darko, can you watch this for me? Don't eat or even try to eat it. It could kill you," Taiyo said hastily as he placed a chocolate cupcake with pink frosting and sprinkles on Darko's snout. Taiyo ran off before bewildered Manetric could ask anything.
How could a harmless cupcake be murderous? Nevermind that, why would Taiyo leave me with a murderous cupcake?? Darko had questions he wanted to ask, but he did as he was asked. He was gazing at the cupcake so intently that he almost didn't want to blink. He caught a whiff of the scent of the chocolate underneath the rosy frosting. It tempted him so! Little did he know that nearby, there was someone else eyeing "his" treat. With the cupcake on his nose distracting him from catching its scent, it lunged out of the bush in a similar manner that Taiyo did and swiped the cupcake from his snout before he knew what was happening.
"Hey!!," Darko exclaimed. He caught a glimpse of the face of a Zigzagoon. A dark beret was placed crookedly on top of her head. She couldn't be anyone other than his friend, Giniqua. Giniqua winked at Darko before she disappeared into the undergrowth. "GINIQUA, YOU `LIL THIEF! COME BACK HERE!" he barked somewhat angrily. He desperately dashed after her, but soon, he was out of the forest and saw a crystal clear lake. By the lake was a picnic table, piled up with presents and balloons. Giniqua was under the table, nibbling and finishing off the cupcake. From the lake, he heard a splashing noise and looked towards the lake. Out of the water came Taiyo and his Azurill friend, Bammeh. He was shocked that Taiyo did not appear angry.
"SURPRISEEE!" the three of them said in unison. It was a surprised party for him! He had completely forgotten that it was April 14, his birthday. Apparently, it seemed that Taiyo bought the cupcake from Wheatwing and placed the cupcake on his snout solely to distract him (although he really would die if he ate the cupcake) from noticing Giniqua. Giniqua adored cupcakes and would do anything to get her paws on one; she was great at it too, seeing that she is a Zigzagoon. Hence why she volunteered to "steal" it from him. They all spent the rest of the day hanging out there.
