# About me

Yo, I am Shaeress and I am DODO. Most people call me Scoots, though. I'm a pretty big nerd, even by Internet standards, and I nerd in many areas.

I'll start with games, because I really like games. Not just the digital kind. In fact, roleplaying and board gaming are my favoured formats, but digital gaming often wins out due to convenience. German style board games are awesome (I might have a crush on Reiner Knizia), but I've also been playing Magic for a long time (though not very competitively... That game does have some issues, I'll admit). As for roleplaying I'm pretty much in the simulationist camp, with rather heavy character focus (as in simulating behaviour, rather than stats and abilities). It's also a favouring that's bled over heavily onto my other media consumption, meaning that I very much prefer serial stuff over, for instance, films since that allows much more character establishing, development and interpersonal interaction and development. Basically, I don't care all that much about plot or story; that'd be a bonus, but it's not necessary. I like Buffy more than most films, despite all its story issues.
I was also the VP for PonySquare for quite some time, an MLP site that ended up being a roleplaying site and I had a lot of fun there just throwing interesting characters at other interesting characters.

As for digital gaming, I did play a lot of RPGs in the past, but after doing a lot of tabletop and more focused roleplaying (like on PonySquare) the digital variants seemed rather crippled and limited in that regard. I do have a bit of a weak spot for fast paced positional games and was way into strategy games (AoE II, WC3, Earth series, Broodwar, Ground Control) for a while, but that was before I was truly on the Internet and while I ended up doing a lot of custom maps for WC3 I haven't gotten into one after that. Diablo 2 filled that role for a while, since you can get some very fast, difficult and punishing gameplay if you build your character "correctly". More recently Tribes Ascend filled that role, which is a love/hate relationship beyond any I've had with any game (the best and most broken game I've played) and I even got into the comp scene for quite some time (Pelican on top!).
There's also been a lot of single player games in many periods of my life (like now) and I've gotten into the habit of really breaking down games to their mechanics and design. Game theory, board games and modding helped a bunch with that. Hopefully MOBAs will fix their core design issues so that I can get into them properly soon. :I

These days, however, I live on the Internet (with a bit of a down period currently, due to bad Internets). I really enjoy discussing certain political issues, I've got a family culture of social sciences and behaviour science and discussing those things in a political and historical context are some of my favourite things to do. The origins and development of "intelligence", the upcoming age of AI and in general information availability and technology in a societal and historical context! Delicious stuff!

I'm, obviously, also into a bunch of the rather regular Internet nerd stuff, like anime, certain western cartoons and so on, but that's largely just a list of specific works that I'm sure a lot of you already know about. I probably forgot a bunch of stuff, but it can be labelled as nerdy it's likely that I, at the very least, have done some stuff in that area.

Otherwise I spend most of my time reading or discussing those things, but also try and write fiction whenever I can find time, energy and inspiration. Most of that ends up on my, totally NSFW, tumblr ( lonelyscoots.tumblr.com ). By necessity, it's also the place where my NSFW writing goes.

Now, go have a fun or two! <3 <3

Yo Shaeress! I know you think the series has been running long, but I promise I already have the ending in mind. I'm just finding the text size limit of the entries a lot more annoying than it should be! Thank you for faving Healing Ponies POV Penultimate 01! [link]

P.S. If you didn't already know. WE'VE GOT OUR OWN TVTROPES PAGE NOW! [link]

Thanks for the fav dude and all the previous faves to boot!

Yeah, I saw that! Think the pacing seems to be back on track now, and I usually like build-ups rather than the grand finales, so to speak.
How come I haven't seen this on EqD? Are they being mean to you?

When I submitted Discord Ponies POVs, they said AJ's accent was too thick and that it was more like a conversation piece than a story. The former I can fix, but the latter?

Uhm... Well, I do admit that it took a little while to adjust to the accent, and there is a lot of dialogue, but that's just silly. Them silly fillies of EqD... Perhaps I should infiltrate them only to promote this.

Heh! Good luck!

Ironically it's been suggested by others that the REharmonized POVs would make it through. BUt without the Discorded POVs to lay down the ground work it wouldn't feel right.

Heh. I'd delete these comments but that would feel underhanded and dishonorable.

Hello once again Shaeress, thank you for favoring the Healing POVs of Both Rarity and Pinkie Pie. I hope you've read and enjoy the other Healing POVs that they reference in places. And stick around for the rest of the ride.

Also, the next POV WILL be a direct sequel to one of the Discord POVs, so I hope you take the time to read them. If you have and I'm just spamming you then sorry. [link]

Seriously though thank you again for the watch and thank you for favoring the two POVs of the ponies working out their problems.

No worries! All the Healing POVs are quite well written but especially that they focus on character development and character establishing. Those things have always been the my favourite aspects of all stories, no matter whether it's a short story, a novel, a movie, a video game etc. So I preferred the Pinkie one because of just that. It was a single character that we got to see in depth and the story is just a story of self-realisation and self-improvement. Pretty much the same with Rarity and supporting those in need have always been a big part of my life. It just takes so precious little to set improvement in motion!
So really, it's my pleasure! If I have time and motivation I might get around to do an in depth analysis of your series and I'll be sure to send it to you!

I guess one of the weaknesses with Rainbow Dash's story is that she didn't resolve the flip side of her element (how to deal with facing equal loyalties, instead she's just struggling with the guilt of having done so in the first place!).

"Those things have always been the my favourite aspects of all stories, no matter whether it's a short story, a novel, a movie, a video game etc."

"It was a single character that we got to see in depth and the story is just a story of self-realisation and self-improvement."

Glad the 'mind world thingie' didn't come across as cliche then I assume.

'Pretty much the same with Rarity and supporting those in need have always been a big part of my life.'

Rarity was another challenge to write. Much like this one.

I play most video games for the story myself too.

" If I have time and motivation I might get around to do an in depth analysis of your series and I'll be sure to send it to you!"

Words fail me. THAT WOULD BE SO COOL! Dude! You are making me blush! I AM SO SO HONORED!

Thank you so much for your kind words dude!
