I always kind of thought that Mina and Starr were the same person, but from different dimensions. They share similar facial features, an interest in psychology, and issues with their names, but they had different upbringings.

Yeah something like that! I kinda wanna have some crack-headcanon about him being a fifth dimensional and not knowing it or something. Or maybe the child of a fifth dimensional given his limited ability to affect people, but I'm just going too deep into things at this point. (I gotta explain his hypnotism somehow! ..and maybe his ability to magically grow back his hair)
Oh that's interesting to consider, that they're counterparts. I mean, it's surprising that they have so much in common, and by complete coincidence!

He'd definitely have to be detached from the actual fifth dimension, since he doesn't resemble any of the canon residents. If he was a descendant of a fifth dimensional, that would make sense. It might also explain why the Music Master could be his father, but from an alternate dimension.
I think that when people develop OCs to ship with a certain character, a few traits pop up that naturally compliment the canon character. But Mina and Starr do have an unusual amount of similarities, especially since I hadn't read your fanfic at the time.

Yeah, I do see that. I am glad that I can tell that Starr and Mina are still their own people, the same but different. My fanfic is in storage right now; I don't think it described their story and relationship well enough
