What is up with that is I have no idea. Also, apparently I really suck at correspondence, because I'm replying to this more than a year after you wrote it and I have no idea if you're even using this site anymore. Whoops!
But, other than that - I'm trying to get back into it. How are things?

Things are very, very good. I have a degree, I have a career, I have an apartment, I have a cat. There are bumps in the road, but largely I can't complain. And you? It's been a while.

About sixty, yup. What's your degree in, again? Wish I was done already...I'm currently working towards a degree in music education and considering a second in environmental tech management. We'll see.
I've been alright. I have a job now, which helps things, but I'm pretty short on spare time during the school year. Things are generally good - for the most part I have what I need to be happy. My next goal is moving out, but that's probably going to have to wait a while. I've found fulfillment largely unexpected places - being a fine arts major can, surprisingly enough, do a great job of taking much of the creativity and enjoyment out of music, but I'm slowly learning to adapt, and I think I'll be okay in the end.

Multimedia Arts and Sciences, concentration in Interactive Design. + minor in Literature. It has been such a relief not being a student, ah god. I mean, sometimes I miss it because I enjoyed school, but yeah. It's a nice change. Good luck! Are you slated to graduate in 2012?

♥ ! Sounds like an awesome degree, though I can see why you'd be happy to be done. Unfortunately, no 2012 graduation for me. I'm starting my fourth year and I still have another two and a half to go - wish I could just be finished already.
But all in all, yes, I seem to be keeping my head above water. Trying to put some material together to do an open mic night at a stand-up club in Scottsdale in a couple of weeks. I have an old friend who started doing comedy a couple months ago, and he's already landed a few paying gigs since then. It's always been a dream of mine, so here's hoping I can do something with it! You're still living in North Carolina, yes?

It beats flipping burgers. And I'll tell you what, man, I still feel pretty lucky to have a career in such a unique field - a lot of it isn't even going to feel like work, or at least that's what they say...
And is it safe to assume that NC beats the hell out of Phoenix? I mean, aside from the whole weather thing...I can only imagine you guys have a lot more culture/history/etc. than we do.

I think most things beat flipping burgers, but that's just me. Hopefully by the time you graduate the national job market will have recovered a bit, eh? It's a terrible time to be striking out in the field, let me tell you. I know some of my former classmates who still don't have jobs, even a year and a half after graduation.
I dunno, I've never been west of San Antonio. See also: homebody. But having four seasons is nice, and the leaves are getting ready to change, and that's always a really nice time. Apparently one of our senators just called my hometown a "cesspool of sin," lmao. That's a stamp of approval if I ever saw one. We have more fun in hell.

Yeah, Godspeed You! Black Emperor are pretty much the best band ever. Well, one of the best. I had a roommate who swore by Mogwai, but still. Lift Yr. Skinny Fists is a great album, my introduction to the band, but lately I've been really digging Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada.
I really like post-whatever. Post rock is probably the one I listen to least, haha. Post metal is pretty awesome, with Pelican and Isis -- have you ever listened to those? And then there's post-punk with At the Drive-In and the Mars Volta, of which I recommend both.
*peruses your favorite music* I've never heard Explosions in the Sky but I have heard of them. I should probably check one of their albums out... Maybe I'll stop by the record store today.
Anyway, keep it up with the awesome music and awesome art. *thumbsup*

Dude, if you want a great Explosions album pick up a copy of How Strange, Innocence. It's a very lighthearted album, but the musical work is just incredible.
Never was a big fan of the Mars Volta, but I will admit they're certainly not bad.
