You guys should create a dog breeding genetic sim game. Because it be really cool and interesting to see and fun. And your art style for these dog and animals look amazing.

I've been trying to look into kennel accounts and find out more about where to find out more about genetics so I can start my own kennel.Β I have a few ideas and I'd also like to find out more about registered/call names. If anyone could point me in the direction of some active kennel accounts or just helpful tips and sources, I'd be extremely grateful! Thank you!!

It kind of depends on what the request is. We don't take art requests, but sometimes people want to see us do things of certain breeds and just general requests are okay.

Mostly, we use photographs as reference. A lot of people think that a cartoony style like ours would have no need for real life models and ref but they'd be dead wrong.

Oh thank you. :3 I'm not sure how helpful this is because most good art programs are expensive. Both artists on this account use Photoshop CS5, which is kind of expensive. Another good program to use that I sometimes play with is Paint Tool SAI which can be bought for about 90 USD. Significantly cheaper than Photoshop and it does almost everything that it does, it can actually be better than Photoshop for some things, so do look into that if you can afford it. The most affordable art program that I know of is a program called Fire Alpaca. It's free and highly versatile, but it's a little glitchy and crashes a lot. Still it's better than nothing and it is completely free last time I checked so check those out and see if they work for you.

No no my no, your concern is absolutely warranted. It's been a year now for christ's sake, we need get them done. x3 We have a few in progress and two are actually finished waiting to be posted. But life hit us in the face literally the middle of working on them and we have been floundering ever since. We're definitely trying though to finish them as soon as we possibly can, sooner rather than later.

Haha no problem. No need for gifts, we appreciate that you follow our art enough to even notice. We're planning on doing a few litters soon hopefully, assuming real life lets up for a moment and we get some time to ourselves. Our popularity really makes it hard to do any personal breedings, so we might make a point of doing a few in the coming months, so we're collecting some stock.

Hello! Will you be releasing linearts/bases at any time?

Yes actually! We have a plan of doing some fundraising type raffles where, upon reaching certain point values, we release some linearts as a sort of donation reward. Once released, the linearts would be free to use, but we'd have some lead up to fund some of the other stable activities and to get some feedback on what kinds of linearts our fans want to see from us.

We can't give much in the way of tips, just work hard and keep practicing. You can find animation tutorials here on Deviantart, don't be afraid to use them.

We were all new to this kennel thing at some point, and it can all be a little confusing, like breeding or competing how does it work?
There are no rules or set limits on how to begin, you can go completely your own way and run this virtual kennel however you please.
But if you are confused on where to begin we got some guidelines for you.
Some basic words that is often used within the dog art world:
Darpg= Dog-Art-Role play game
Sire= The father of a dog
Dam= The mother of a dog
Dog= Sometimes used to describe a male dog
Bitch= Sometimes used to describe a female dog
Pedigree= A dogs bloodline, who are the parents of the dog, grandparents etc.
Temperament= A dogs personality
Discipline= What the dog is used for, what it is trained to do.
