I hope you come up with a good name for the bun 
I didn't actualy know amethyst was your birthstone [lucky you, I think I have amber as mine... pah it's not even real a stone -.-] but as I know you like purple/red and black I looked for a stone to match. I had a blood red garnet but it was about 1/2 the size of the amethyst and would be to puny for a pendant.
