I haven't been able to read the manga in a year thanks to onemanga.com dying. If mangafox.com wasn't so riddled with viruses I'd still be reading it but such is life.

Ugh I can't even remember all of the manga I was reading at the time. I know Host Club and Bakuman were two but I kept up with LOADS more. So many hours wasted only to have it all turn into a directory of manga.

I have a senior exit project that is ironically due after Christmas time. It has been broken up into due dates, most of which are within a week of each other and is nothing other than glorified busy work. One of those due dates is tomorrow. I have a paper for a dual enrollment course due Thursday which needs a MAJOR overhaul(despite what my peers will tell me), I'm taking the SAT this weekend, and my parents keep telling me to fill out college applications somehow. Right now, I'd like to bash my head in thanks to stress. If college truly is like this, I hope I don't end up like Esther Greenwood.
Anyways, sorry for the rant. My brain won't be back until Sunday at the latest. X__X

I've been pretty busy with learning new jobs and school myself.
oh man good luck with the SAT! fkdlajfdklsjfdkasjf. the college application process is horrid. I ended up just going to community because it was attached to the magnet highschool I went to and the easiest process in the world. pleaseplease dont' end up like Esther!!!!

Nah, it's fine.
The SAT was fine, especially because I lucked out on having too few math sections and an overload of writing and CR sections, which are my strong points, so I do have hope at a high score at least, which then means a possible scholarship that will last me for four years of college. And I sure hope I don't, but the senior project, on top of college stuff, on top of all my other school work...it just begs the question of how do they expect us to do it all. Sure, I use my free blocks wisely but it's not like I can go home and rest during them to make up for lack of sleep. Half of the time I'm studying for Intro to Ancient Greek rather than working on my project or DE class (which is HORRIBLY ironic on so many levels but, alas, I take pride at my high grade in Greek, especially since I am part of a class of only three people, myself included).
In the end, I just want a weekend to myself that remains unhindered by the SAT or ACT, or relatives planning to visit, or my sister visiting from college. I just want one full day devoted to my old hobbies before I have to dive back in to all this work. Teachers tell us to just do things one at a time but it's hard to do so with Guidance nagging at you for not completing applications already, along with teachers expecting you to devote two hours to their classes, and a principal who expects you to navigate your way through a horrendously written pamphlet about the senior project and its "learner expectations".
Basically, I think it's just pressure to succeed. I have to do well in class, or my GPA will slip. I have to do well on the ACT or SAT or college becomes moot. I have to have a high GPA and standardized test scores also because both my parents are pinning their hopes on me winning a great scholarship, especially after this financial aid fiasco with my sister. And I have to do well on my senior project or I won't graduate. The last thing I want is a letter of acceptance from the college of my choice and a four year scholarship only just to be told I can't graduate because of some silly eight-page research/persuasive paper and 15 minute presentation that I happened to do poorly on. And I will be so utterly pissed if it turns out that my graduation is not determined by my grade on the senior project.
