her name is Doodle <3 I've been so busy with the puppy and school that I actually looked at an old doodle from before christmas and thought 'wow, I used to be good' thats how depressign it's gotten. The most I've drawn is a naruto on a dry erase board >< so sad ... I need some inspiration

I use photoshop myself, but I bet that it has the same basic functions.
anyway, I always start with a light sketch on a lower layer, do lines on a top layer, and color each color seperately on different layers. I think the biggest key to working for me is layer work and highlights. Layers make it easier to concentrate on various areas of your work.
