I just found out you designed a tattoo (an elephant) for my aunt a while back. It was neat to find you on DeviantArt--and you did a great design!

Thanks! I have had more people ask to use that as a tattoo than I could ever have imagined, haha. So glad you like it.

Ok, I sort-of finished the first part of Dark Woods Circus-shoots, and here they can be found [link]
I think I didn`t manage to bring up what I wanted, because I had limited time to do it, and it was at midnight. Then I got cold, and eaten by super-annoying and bloodthirsty mosquitoes.

But here would be something.

Interesting start! I like the kind of uneven, organic look of the bruising. I would maybe up the contrast and specificity of the injuries -- they just look like bruises right now.

Think about the rule of thirds when setting up shots, and I would also consider getting a tripod so that you can play with the flash settings more. Right now the automatic setting of the camera is washing out all of your hard work.

Nice start, though! Interested to see where it goes.

Heh, thanks!
Those were good tips, I`m surely going to try.
Unfortunately my camera seems to be breaking up completely. That`s why I`m considering to ask someone to assist me, since all my savings are going to my journey-planning to England... we`ll se what`ll happen! ^.^

I`m listening.. interesting music now, and I`ll link you them, so you`ll get what I`m reaching.

Its only me shooting and creating, so something easy too
I`ll credit you, of course!

Thanks for the compliments! I'm not sure what you're asking me to help you with. Did you want ideas for makeup, or tips on how to apply certain kinds of makeup, or tips of taking pictures and staging said makeup?

I`ll link you the song I got inspired to this, and hopefully it`ll give you a view of what I want to create [link]

Well, let's see. The animator uses a flowery sort of design to represent death on the faces of the characters, so maybe something where the face was rotting off to reveal flowers? Or the flesh had been carved into flowers? I would make it very delicate, though; not huge and gory.

Awe, you're welcome. :3 I'm going into special effects makeup and such, and I love the gruesome stuff you do. The pin has to be one of my favourites. Otherwise, I liked the Frankenstein's monster you did. The extended mouth was a nice touch. ^^

Hello, I am a makeup artist and I saw your burning clown picture. I really liked the idea, and so now I'm looking at your other stuff. I'm very impressed. I run a haunted attraction here in Oklahoma, and I thought it would be cool to network with you and share ideas. Do you work in spook houses every year?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Simonbagel In reply to TreyBishop [2009-06-19 04:08:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I'm flattered that you like my work so much.

That's really neat that you run a haunted attraction. I never knew they were such a widespread phenomenon until recently. Actually, last year was the first year I ever worked in one. I plan on working there again as many years as I can, and then I'll have to find another one when I graduate college and move away.

It would be great to network and brainstorm! I'm always up for new things. What is your haunted house like? I honestly have no experience with them apart from working last year. Ironically, I don't like going through them. I prefer frightening to being frightened.

I'll be posting some images from it soon with more descriptions about it soon, I'll be sure to notify you as I do.

For now, tell me what you think of this, its a teaser: [link]
