Dude, you haven't heard from me in a looooong while, have you? I don't blame Laura for anything anymore, nor you. That's the past. The person you remember is long dead to the world. I did some bad, stupid shit when you knew me. I realize that, and fuck, even I don't like me from back then. I hadn't had enough life experiences back then, and it showed.
But now, I've experienced more than you could know -- I'd love to catch up with you sometime, if only once, because the stories I have would blow your mind. I've had a knife to my throat, a gun to my head, I've gone homeless... and now I understand what is important in life. I had my ignorant, "do what I want regardless of how it effects those around me" stage. I've had my, "there is no point in life just end it" stage. I've had my, "drink away the pain" stage. I've had my, "party party party smoke weed drink get fucked up every day" phase (that was during the summer, and when I experienced a lot of the crazy shit). And now?
I finally know who I am. In a way similar to my old, old self (like when you first knew me) but far more refined. I understand what I have done wrong in the past, and what I can do right in the future. Sure, I still drink and smoke weed and cigarettes, but not like I used to (except the cigarettes -- college has me smoking a lot). I understand that you or her wouldn't want to do that shit, but I think it's kinda fucked up if that's one of the reasons you guys don't talk to me.
And yes, I stand behind what I said months (years?) ago -- you belong with Laura. I support you guys fully. Yeah, I had that period where I flipped the fuck out and hated you both, but hell, it was a devastating breakup for me -- I was just angry and trying to cope. I saw you move-in day and was going to say hi, but I had to get my key and then you were gone when I got back. As I told Kevin, I have no problems with you, and no longer think about the past. I am always moving forward.
It's your choice if you still want to not deal with me, but I don't really understand it. It's always better to go forward. If you are looking for an apology, then yes, I am sorry for who I was and what I did. But at least take the chance to meet who I really am, and judge me on myself, not my past. It would be great to talk to you again, maybe you and Darcy can come out sometime.
