Yes- I'm almost done with the next chapter. I had a baby at the end of September, and it's hard to write with a newborn, especially around the holidays!
I'm also going to post all the chapters here too once I remember my html.

No, but it is in the "Newest Deviations" area. There are two parts, part 9 and part 9x. The latter is the smut, separated so my under 18 readers could at least read the majority of the chapter.

If you happen to be one of those, my work is also on fanfiction.net under the same user name.

The age limit won't be a problem. Thanks for letting me know where ch. 9 was! Your description for the ritual that Al and Mattie perform is absolutely lovely. I love the dash of paganism you put in there.

I wrote most of that chapter while sitting on my parents' dock on the lake in the story- it's pretty non-touristy so it is easier to feel closer to the pagan spirit there.

Nothing like being near nature to get inspired. I try to get away from the city as much as I can. Keep up the amazing work!

It's about 2/3 done. It is hand drawn, colored, and "aged" so it goes a bit slower than my digital work.

ok, i really want to see it when it's done, i love royal flush and am obsessed with the cardtalia idea, BTW what are the other items belonging to the royals called? (King of Spades' pocket watch-Spadille, Queen of Spades' clock-Chrona) as in the Jack of Spades' sword and the King of Hearts' sceptre, it's just I can't find a reference anywhere and you're not the first person to call the pocket watch Spadille (sorry for rambling on like this)

There is no canon as to what the Royal Items are called. I have names for each implement that will be interspersed through my story (based on Latin, mythology, and tarot interpretations), but I used "Spadille" for the King's watch because it is an old term for the Ace of Spades. I actually had not seen that used in a story before, but I'm not really surprised. I also use the names of two of the original card games devised by Edward Hoyle as the major rivers of the continent- the Quadrille has already appeared in the story.

Even though it hasn't come up yet- Yao's short sword in Royal Flush is called "Aeterna". Both Arthur's and Yao's implements are plays on the suit of Swords being connected with the concept of time.

thanks, let me know if you decide to name the other royal items (Austria's cane, France's rose, Germany's sceptre etcetera) the quadrille is the one between spades and dimonds isn't it?

I've named a few so far:
Kiku's flowers are red chrysanthemums (which mean "love" in flower language) I call "Anthemis", after the genus name of the plant.
Francis' golden rose (which stands for unfaithfulness, amusingly) is "Brevis", meaning "fickle fortune".
Lili's flowers are golden buttercups (meaning "riches") called "Acris" after the species name of the plant.
The others I'm still waiting for the implements to inspire me. Roderich's might be tough, as I don't write him well and can't seem to get into his stuffy head.

And the Quadrille River does form most of the border between Spades and Diamonds, while the other major river joins it near Hierophant City, called the Piquet. All the names of cities and natural features (like mountains or forests) in each land will be based on real places in the countries of their respective royalty, like "Merica" being the capitol city of Spades. Obvious capitol is obvious.
