Hey there, my name is Peregrine Caged (obviously). I'm a pony fan fiction writer--DawnFade suggested I ask you to assist us in a 'little' project I've organized.
It's a collaboration of over sixty different authors, each writing for one pony a short Slice of Life story. Dawn found my own entry posted here and got on board and this thing has grown beyond my wildest dreams.
So, I think a project like this deserves a custom cover--all these authors who have joined in on my little idea deserve it. Furthermore, with that many authors (DawnFade among them), this is bound to get a lot of exposure...so, why not attach your art to it?
I love your style, it's good and unique. The piece I have in mind will be simple in and of itself, though the...idea behind it might be a little complicated. Anyways, I hope you find the idea at least interesting. Hit me up if you do.

Well, the project itself was designed to be a sort of exercise: a lot of authors put a lot of worry and effort in their writing, often stressing or hitting blocks. So, this was supposed to help foster a new way of writing a story; as well as fostering practice on character development over plot.
So, the idea was for each author to pick a relatively 'major' (this word was redefined a few times) pony--generally ones who had an official name and/or had at least spoken a line of dialogue. They were then told to imagine a Moment, a simple, everyday sort of event and write 1000-3000 words. Nothing too serious or deep, just a simple Moment we might not normally see or even think about in the life of a character. These would be 'snapshots', written photographs to be a part of the overall project, The Album.
As for our actual cover...well, discussing with Dawn, optimally we'd have a sort of 'yearbook'-esque photo cover, with all the authors OCs. This would be an absolute nightmare, not only to collate but for anyone to draw. So, nice idea, a bit much to execute. So, we fall back on my original idea.
The project is called The Album, so I imagined a photo album cover. That, in and of itself, would be simple. But it's the look of it, the feel of it where the challenge comes in, I think. I want it to look worn, well-used, aged--quite simply, loved. But not raggedy. The Album should be typewritten fairly large and center. And then I'm trying to think of a few personalizations to add--such as a hand drawn message on the bottom talking about 'loving memories' or 'life's moments', something like that.
So, how's that strike you? Thoughts, questions, concerns, ideas?

We've got a decent filler, but a project like this and all the authors deserve something more.
*thinks* Well, I didn't intend a background or anything, but now that you say... That sounds like it might make a more personal touch, however. I'll leave it to your judgement, but that should work out well. The table and personal items, yes. Nice and homey.
