# About me
Im a amateur artist hoping to get better. I usually draw with a normal pencil. Not the best thing in the world but it works just fine for me.I usually just draw faces, cause faces are fascinating to me. Since I don't have a scanner, I take the drawing with my camera.But I get bored easily, so i'll jump around sometimes to other things.

Hope it is not as hot in the US as it is over here in Holland....especially with you moving to a new house...

Indeed, it is over 30Β°C most of the days...with severe thunderstorms from time to time...makes your hands sweaty and drawing is not really a pleasure untill after 9.00 pm...thatΒ΄s OK cause I donot have time to start drawing earlier than that most days. But with this weather I do not feel like doing much anyway...
Hope you get settled soon cause I really need to get some inspiration from your drawing. I need the Β΄shareΒ΄ effect...makes me feel good.

I have a way with words, yes, I have learned the force of words through experience. I try to balance every word I speak, before I say it. And I balance the words spoken to me by others...

IΒ΄m not such a technical drawer. I use pencils, cheap copy paper an eraser and my finger to smudge (until I was told by many DA friends NOT to do that...seems to be a crime...) Since a few weeks I use cottonwool to soften things up. And yesterday I bought a set of these pressed paper, pencil like, pointed rolls to work with to get more texture. I am doing a drawing now of a child for which I use pencils 2H, B, B3, B8 and the new Β΄paper pensΒ΄.
Nearly finished now (have to start on the hair, which I find difficult, so I am a bit scared to ruin it) and so far I am happy with it.

Oh griding is when you draw a grid on your paper and also put another grid on what ever your gonna draw of. And eyeing is when you just estimate, in other words, eye it out.
Yeah I didn't know you weren't suppose to blend with your fingers til I joined DA. Something to do with oil in your hands?
btw whats paper pens? and whats the difference between all the pencils? I just use mechanical and number 2 pencils.

The boys have school till end of July, then they have a 6 week Summer Holiday
Ah, yes...i know what you mean by gridlines and Β΄eyeingΒ΄
Well, for the setup of the drawing I use a different technique: helplines. Simply because I do not have Β΄the eyeΒ΄ yet to do it otherwise.
helplines are made as follows:
- print your picture to the desired size you want to draw (black and white print makes the shading more clearly visible!)
- put your blank drawing paper on top of the picture
- hold against the light (window) and you can see through the picture
- now you can put helplines where you need them for the setting: the eyes, nose, mouth, face outline, whatever you feel you need to be confident
As you progress you will need less and less helplines.
Helplines are important when you start. A rigt setup of the drawing helps you to train your eyes AND gives you a better result...nothing works beter to get you to the next drawing than the joy of a succesful drawing.

Well, again it is 4,40 AM in the morning and I need to get some sleep. Need to be up at 7,30...
I donΒ΄t need much sleep, I can Β΄recoverΒ΄ quickly by doing a short but deep sleep.
When I start drawing in the evening I usually cannot stop untill it is ready............ So I finish it and go to bed at 3.00 or 4.00 or 5.00 or...not al all, just a quick Β΄relaxΒ΄ sleep

just doing the background, all the tress and branches... it's really hard and I didn't do much the last few days because I'll do my theoretical driver's licence on Wednesday and I really have to concentrate on that and working on an exhausting picture isn't what you want to do after you learned the whole day
