# About me

I have been drawing my own work since I was around 5 years old when all of my coloring books were finished being scribbled in. I am mostly a self taught artist save for one art class in high school.

I used to draw a lot of fantasy style pictures such as dragons, trolls, demons, and creatures of my own creation. In high school I began doing more realistic pictures of wildlife and experimenting with other mediums. I have done a few commissions for friends and coworkers. If anyone would like a picture done, let me know. That would be shamelss self promotion number one.

Greyscale pencil is still my favorite but I do dabble in colored pencil and digital painting occasionally. Currently I am trying to improve my portraiture skills.

I was never much of a photographer until a year or two ago when i purchased a new camera. Now I take pictures of everything everywhere I go. Only a few I post, but my harddrive is cluttered with them.

Recently I was commissioned to be a photographer for two weddings. I had a ball doing them and the couples really liked how the pictures turned out. I look forward to more work like this. Anyone needing a photographer in the state of Utah, let me know and we can work something out. Shameless self promotion number two.

I like you, you're funny. You seem to be pretty much undiscovered in the whole view of things. You have a good eye for beautiful shots ^.^

I haven't checked out your drawings yet, but I'll try to give you as much help as I can in them if you're practicing portraiture. I'm not that great, but I am a copyist, so I'm not too shabby with portraits. I've also done up to a certificate 4 in Drawing and Painting (They're separate courses lol) so if you need any help and I know something on it, I'm more than willing to attempt to explain ^.^

ANDDDDDDDDDDd before you get too OMIGOSH SHE'S GOING TO HELP ME, I'm 17 haha, so really, not that great, but certainly willing ^.^

And after checking out your wedding photos - WHOA o.0 You're a brilliant photographer! Some of those concepts are absolutely fantastic!

So, I was looking through your gallery, and then read your DeviantID intro. I think you are definitely on the right track to being a great photographer... I also looked at your wedding photos, and honestly, those ones (from what I can see) are the best of all the photos I've seen...
You've got a knack for interesting perspectives, and for photography in general it seems.
Anyhow, instead of critiquing a single image, I wanted to comment on your entire gallery in general... I noticed quite a few photos that could be awesome, save for minor flaws... One thing I noticed throughout was that a lot of your images were shot with an ISO higher then 100... now, I'm not sure what the D40 is capable of for ISO levels... I used to have a D40x until I sold it and bought my D90... but if you have the option to shoot and ISO 100 then do... You'll notice less noise in your image. The higher the ISO, the more noise...
Even in low light scenes I always use a very low ISO... I might up my f-stop if I need a faster shutter, but generally that's not the case when you're doing landscape shots and what not.
Also, if you haven't experimented with HDR yet, you should... When you shoot for HDR images you capture the full range, and when you bring all of the images together, you create something magical (sometimes... ;) (Wink) )
There are tutorials in my gallery for HDR if you're interested, as well as in my group #ALL-things-HDR
One things for certain, if it wasn't for noise in some of your waterfall images, I think they'd get a lot more faves...
My two favorite images from your gallery are: Lunacy & Black on Yellow on Violet
Anyhow, I hope I haven't offended or bored you to tears ;) (Wink)
You definitely have the talent and the artistic eye required to be a great photographer :D (Big Grin)
