A boy lost from his destiny. That's what Jack Frost once was, plain and simple. Life had given him a second chance in life, for reasons unknown. For Jack was truly a moon child, brought back to life by the man in the moon. Yet all the moon would tell him was his name and nothing more. The boy spent three hundred years wandering alone, invisible to anyone and everyone. No one was there to give him warmth and comfort except the cold itself. The icy lake he rose from gave him ice for his own. A magical staff, that's all he needed to grant him these powers of ice. So he'd soar the skies and fill the winter breeze with his joyful laugh, leaving frost wherever he went, spreading his magic to the world. He did it for himself, he did it for others, for the simple fun of it all. No one could see the boy with the moon-kissed hair, white, cold, and soft as snow. No one would notice the mischievous glint in his cobalt blue eyes. But he saw the children laughing in the snow days, enjoying a day free off class, and for a while, it didn't matter.
Jack Frost was anything but a Guardian. He wasn't someone who'd let himself get cooped up away from the air and the skies he'd become one with to fly. He hated responsibilities. He hated a life of rules. That wasn't going to change.
Life was funny that way. He thought it was a bad joke from the moon to tell him that after all he went through, Jack was meant to be just that. To be a Guardian. He went along with it for his own selfish desires, yet spent at most a day with those Guardians and suddenly, something clicked. It was as if he discovered the family he was meant to have. It took a while, but he finally found everything he was looking for. The answers, the believers, the friends, and, well, the family. Yeah, that seemed like a plot twist. But you bet that he's not complaining.
