Well, I finished up the final piece of my sculpture project! It actually turned out pretty nice for having been rushed. I'm just going to gesso the wood so that it looks a bit more polished. But my review is on Monday so wish me luck XD

I also got to watch a bunch of old cartoons with friends tonight because they were having a little group showing of that. It was really fun and we even watched some Pokemon. I'm just glad you're catching me now, because earlier this week I was so stressed because I had nothing done and I had a week for everything.

It's sort of an abstract wooden sculpture. It's not something I would ordinarily do, but I believe it's along the lines of what my teacher would like. Which is basically what I'm aiming for at this point XD

Yeah, though my future roommate has been bothering me of late. I think it's the stress she's in but every time I see her she greets me in this really negative way and most of the things she says are put downs. She used to be fun to hang around, which is why I even agreed to room with her, but now she's just driving me up a wall. She'll see me somewhere and say something like "Got your lazy ass out of bed finally?" (this being after she already saw me a few hours ago). Everything she says just sounds so hostile and like she's trying to get into a fight, but as soon as I get upset with her she says "Oh, you just have a really short temper. I'm cool-headed about this, there's no reason to be upset." And she'll usually add something about how it's not my business anyway or how it doesn't really affect me so I've no right to be mad in the first place, where she very clearly tried to instigate an argument! It's making me worry about how we'll do when we room together next year...

Yeah. It was a requirement for this project though. So wood it was.

I really don't know. I've been trying to avoid her since she's in such a bad mood. I'm hoping that it's just the stress of finals and that she'll be fine next year, but I'm not so sure. She always says something like "I was just being facetious" but she never comes off as sarcastic at all. It just seems angry and vicious.
And it's not even me who brings it up most of the time. She'll bring up something while sounding like she sort of wanted someone to complain to, so I'll take that as she wants someone who agrees that it's a bad thing. But then she gets all in a huff because I'm trying to be supportive. She neither gets social cues nor gives proper ones for what she wants. She's completely socially inept!

Hmm... It's strange. =\ But I think I recognise that behavior from one of my previous friends. It's like they're mad, but then they try to pretend they weren't by saying they were being sarcastic just to avoid a confrontation.

I'd say probably clay. It's more workable and you don't need those huge saws and stuff to work with it. Even though my teacher commended me when we were practicing with the bandsaw on being the quickest learner, I still get so nervous around those huge things.

I'm really not sure. I've managed to kind of keep her at arms length for a while, so hopefully she's either settled down or gotten distracted by work. I mean, I just wish people were honest if something I did upset them. That way I'll know in the future to tread carefully about certain subjects. Instead I feel like I upset people without meaning to but they just don't say anything about it. :/ It's just kind of unfair to the both of us.

Yeah, I agree. Especially the soft and smooth clay, it makes some really nice-looking sculptures. I'm really scared of the saws, to be honest, I'm always afraid I'll lose a finger to one. >.> Seriously, Christer really scared me once with one of the saws. You see, his class had this Christmas workshop thing where they all helped the rest of the school make art. In any case, he was gonna saw this thing for me and another girl because we're both scared of the saw, and after sawing for some time he suddenly screamed. I thought he'd badly cut himself or something, but apparently he was just pissed because the saw got broken. -___- NEVER scream when you're near a saw machine, it scared the crap out of me.

Yikes! I agree, screaming near saws is not a good idea. I think the only reason I was so afraid was because during the safety thing, they wanted to make sure we knew exactly what could happen, so they told us about ten different stories of people losing thumbs, pinkies, more than one finger, getting their back rubbed raw by the power sander, etc. So it made me never want to go near any machine ever again in that room.

Hmm, yeah that seems smart. We've talked minimally but she still seems on edge, so I'm trying to just focus on my own work and not worry too much about it. Hopefully when we actually room together she can learn to be a bit more sensitive and I can be a little more thick skinned in regards to her.

Eeek! D: There was a teacher at my primary school who had lost a finger to one of those saws.
There's this creepy as hell commercial that used to go on Norwegian television a few years back. It was a commercial for glasses, and it featured some butcher guy who was gonna cut a piece of meat in half, but then you saw his hand just slowly drifting closer and closer to the blade, then the screen turned black and you heard a scream. I really hated that commercial. >_<

Yeah, hopefully. If she doesn't change, I think you might have to look for a new roommate. =\

We were, but that was several weeks ago. Nowadays, if I want to hang out with him, I'm always the one who has to contact him first, and usually when I do contact him he's busy playing video games with his other friends in his other friend's room. =\ It's kind of ironic, 'cause he criticized my friend Thea for treating me like a backup friend all the time, but now he seems to be doing the same.

Yeah. I'm afraid people will be disappointed, though. =\ 'Cause while it's taken a ridiculously long time to complete it, it's not really that great. The main reason it's taken so long is just because all the clothing items are so darn detailed.

Yep, we finished watching the entire series yesterday.

Not necessarily, but the shading will be a lot better and much less choppy, plus when the background's a bit more blurry, it puts more focus on the characters.


Man, I am SO tired of this school's internet access! The last few days I've barely had any internet at all. And it's not like it's actually gone either, it's just that it's impossible to log in, 'cause when it's disappeared while I already had internet access, I still had internet as long as I didn't close my laptop. So frustrating.

That really sucks. I have trouble with the internet sometimes but honestly, for all my complaints, it tends to work fine most of the time. It's just when the network is congested that we have to deal with a slowdown, which can be really frustrating during crunch time. Especially when everyone's trying to get onto the campus resource websites and such.

It was rewatching for me, I saw the entire series more than a month ago. And no, I haven't seen Legend of Korra. Is it good? I'm not entirely sure if I want to watch it, I always get sad when child characters grow up. xD

I finally have internet again, and it seems somewhat stable now, but I'm getting paranoid that it'll disappear as soon as I leave it alone. =\

It's really great, actually! It's really sad since you know some characters are dead, but it's really cool to be introduced to this new generation and a more advanced world. Plus we do find out more about what happened to the others after the last series ended, which is pretty interesting in itself!

Hopefully it stays then. Not much more you can do about bad internet.
