Fair enough, though they can be tedious for some people. The Hobbit's good but it's nature as a bedtime story does show :P (Lick) LOTR is good but a lot of people don't like the length and amount of attention it requires. My favourite is the Children of Hurin. It's set in the First Age and it's my favourite of the lot :D (Big Grin) It has the maturity of LOTR but it's far easier to read in my opinion. Plus it requires very little background knowledge, it explains most of it. If you're interested in reading something Middle Earth related, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try :) (Smile)
