As for the recolor comment, first off, an OC (official character) can't exist in the sonic franchise, then it's not official, choose your wording. So have you seen other peoples FC's? I'm in pretty much in the same boat; It's almost impossible to make a fan-character hedgehog that looks original. The best you can do these days is the clothes/shoes you give them, which I do better than a lot of people.
I would like to say congrats, in my 3 years here you're the first to troll me, that should tell you something there. If you'd like to have an actual discussion/argument then by all means go ahead. If you're just gonna troll, then why bother?

Hello. Um... Herman-da-German told me to look throught the artists he faved and you were one of them so I thought I'd ask you this.
I'm trying to make a big flash project for a Valintines Day gift for my boyfriend, also a half birthday present for myself since it is the same day, and I have to draw characters, mostly Sonic type characters, as well as Link, Mario characters, etc.
I am trying to design a style of sorts that I can draw easily, since I'm the best artist, and a style that's easy to animate. I was hoping you could maybe give me some pointers on what I could possible do.
If that's not something you'd really want to give me pointers on, it's understandible and I will make no judgement on how you comment this since it is a bit out of the blue for someone random like me to ask, but I thank you now anyways for reading this.

I can't really tell you of a style to use, since it's all personal preference. If you want to start at basics, I'd say try copying a few pictures from official artwork from different styles (such as Sonic Adventure or Sonic 1). Try this and see which you have the most fun with.
