Hi, Sorry I've been in Idaho for the last 2 months. I play a lot of Video games lol, and I write(finishing up a fantasy Novel I plan on publishing one of these days xO) But that's pretty much all the abnormal stuff I do-everything else I do is fairly normal.

I'm an aspiring martial artist myself and I'm always looking for inspiration. I gotta say the way you just came out and said "I'm a martial artist" is really cool. I realize it seems like nothing but I've not really met anybody in person or dA that has that sort of conviction about it.

Well it has always been just a defense practice for me(Because when you think about it, what sense does it make not to be able to defend yourself?) I wanted to join some tournaments a while back, but I didn't really like the attitudes I've seen from people who win those things(really cocky and selfish) I've taught MA in my yard and at the park, but I've found no one besides my sister and my girlfriend who is serious enough to stick with it...I'm glad you think that is cool I try my very best to not come off as being a cocky asshole, because I aspire to be humble and balanced-You'll never see me telling people I'm a martial artist until they ask me, or they're friends of mine because I think it's better to let it shock people lol

Gotcha, so you've been practicing the more modern styles of aikido huh?
I've been dying to join the tournaments myself. But the ones open to the style my organization deals with are pretty low quality.
Absolutely no penalty for the rule breaking and poor sportsmanship

Do you ever charge for what you teach or is it all friendly?

No I usually don't charge, I leave a donation box lol(Because I think in California, you have to have a permit and all that crap if you charge people, so a donation box is a loophole) That was also another reason I didn't really like the tournament thing, I've seen videos of my dad's fights and a lot of the times, things should've been called by the referee and weren't(he actually lost a fight that he should've won once) And yea, I guess if you call Aikido from the early 80s modern^^ I'm not too sure. Dad was taught by Dan Inosanto(Idk if you've heard of him) so Idk how old fashioned he was...

I've heard little snipits about the dude, never really in the terms of martial arts though. I heard he was a military memorial directer of some sort?
But yeah, when I say more modern I mean within the last few hundred years or so

Well, his academy is raising funds for some wounded soldier project or something, I've only seen pictures and etc of him(I know he was in a movie with Bruce Lee, type in 'Dan Inosanto Bruce Lee' on youtube, and you'll see the fight scene lol)

Alright, well no worries then-it was great meeting someone with similar aspirations! I wish you the greatest of luck in your success, and recommend you be a stunt artist since you're into the More complex martial arts(good money in that and it looks fun) but anyway, have fun man!
