Who knows? :\ Speaking as an outsider to both, maybe it's that they're both very exclusive fandoms. Like, both are very hardcore, so having a cross-section is hard. They're both based off of webcomics, and both have slightly ridiculous premises that work well to draw in readers. I think they're just too similar to get along, when it comes down to it.

Well I'm actually a fan of both Hetalia and Homestuck, and I'm always scared that when I cosplay as Dave and go talk to an America, that some of the Homestucks would either yell or beat me up. I wouldn't put it past them since they HAVE thrown actual metal buckets at Karkat's. Some of the fans in both are nice and friendly, but some can be douches. >:C
