Animals have a right as much as people do, like..
If someones perhaps.. mentally challenged. They'd have characterisitics of a animals right? Cant talk, Can't make contacts, can't walk like a human. And we dont eat them do we, and lacts inellect because they dont have the ability to recognize themselves in the mirror.

All I was doing, was raising awareness on how vegetarians and vegans could have an effect on this world, and I didn't need to be bashed on it.

Unfortunately, the world is full of tossbags that enjoy mocking anyone that says anything that might offend their precious asses.
If you stand up for something (especially something that is right), you're going to get bashed. That will never change. Just stay strong and don't let it get to you :) (Smile)
There are animals that recognize themselves in the mirror. Animals with better memory than humans. Animals more rational than some humans.
Maybe we are spiritually and ethically more evolved but that only means we should be smart enough to restrain ourselves from killing other beings and damaging this planet, not that we get the right to do whatever we want.
Having the power to do something doesn't automatically make it right.
