Wow it was the beginning of the month that you sent this message. Shows how busy I've been. I've been working on the blue pencils and rough sketches of my western comic I've created and already have all written up...I don't go into detail on it with anyone, so excuse my being vague on it ;D .

It's taking a long, loooonnnngggg time to do it because I've been editing the hell out of it. For example: I did reread at issue #2 and didn't like the second half so I tore that rough layout for scenes and redid the whole second half. Those changes effected the story in the following issues and even expanded characters and amped up the mini-series to 7 issues in length...but it reads much better. So mostly I've been drawing up a storm.

I try to breathe as much as possible but this western comic will be around 7 issues and roughly over 200 pages. And that's not counting cover art, book design, logos, etc.
I'll try not to hyperventilate too much.

Well aside from creating it, writing it (all done there), and penciling it, my friend Rob is up for coloring it via his Photoshop and either he or a friend of his will letter the comics. The colored stuff in my Gallery is colored by Rob.

I'm experimenting with a "sans inking" approach to this story. My pencils will be a bit more loose and sketchy on the final pages, but more grounded and polished than the roughs I'm now doing. I'll then take my finished pencils and use black china markers and graytone it all and blend the graytone with a canvas stump (thinking I'll watercolor the flashback sequences to differentiate them visually from the central story). After that, my friend Rob would Photoshop the colors.

If you want a good example of what I'm talking about, check my gallery and look at the Bizarro Superman piece. Also the colored version of my Doomsday sketch. But that Bizarro one is the better example of what my western will look like in terms of the visuals...only more browns, oranges and all that...y'know....being a western and all!

I won't go into specifics on my western with ANYONE nor will I give the title...don't want to spoil it all.

But I tell people that they should take into account that my dearly departed Dad brought me up on westerns, especially my favorites from Clint Eastwood/Sergio Leone...Dollars Trilogy, baby! LOL!

I say, cross those movies with the movies of my favorite filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino...especially From Dusk 'Till Dawn, El Mariachi, Desperado, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, and even the recent Machete. also Kill Bill vol. 2.

No one specific as of now. It's an indie comic. Hoping to shop it around to the various independent publishers including Image, Dark Horse, and various others.
