Hey Steve! I've been a huge fan of your work for years. Especially your weadonverse covers. You have such a soft rendering style paired with dramatic action that makes your stuff instantly recognizable.Β
Would you mind sharing a bit about what tools you use/your process?Β

I work 100% digital from start to finish, using Photoshop and custom brushes. On the softest pieces with a lot of line work, I draw the lines and then add color. For the more heavily painted looking pieces, I usually have a rough sketch and then start immediately roughing colors and refining them until the end result. Recently (like with the Giles covers), I've been painting in black and white, making a full renderβ¦then I use a gradient map to apply an overall coloring, with some additional layers of spot coloring using the blending mode.Β That's a very general overview, if you have a specific question, let me know.

Nice work on all the Buffy The Vampire SlayerΒ covers. I wish I could get one of Buffy trapped inside a giant pink or red bubble gum bubble by a ghost clown who uses a bubble gum gun to capture Buffy and maybe Faith too!
But I imagine you're to busy and don't have the time to draw up such a request.

Hey, Seven, I know you're probably swamped with work and stuff, but I had a request.
My buddy's a HUGE fan of Robin Sachs and isn't taking his passing too well. Is there anyway you could do some kinda art of Robin? Even if it's just an Ethan sketch or something?
Couldn't think of anyone else that could actually do the guy justice.
If you're busy or don't do the whole request thing, it's cool. Just though I'd give it a shot.
