Not to mention view everything on dA now, lol Did you have anything to drink on your birthday?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-02-14 23:15:27 +0000 UTC]

Ooohh yeah I have half a mind to search the 18+ stuff just so I can SEE IT! No I didn't I dont drink. I was given a bottle of champaigne but that stuff is nasty at the best of times, even if I was a drinker. I figgure I can use the money I save from drinking to pay a guy to cook for me in uni. It won't happen but its worth a try. I... can't cook.

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-02-15 17:22:11 +0000 UTC]

It's nice not to be limited any more, and be able to look at reference pictures when needed ect.

I don't drink either, but I still had a pint on my birthday. It hasn't grown on me as a drink though, so I'm sticking with cheaper soft drinks xD

Cooking is really fun when you learn how, very little tastes better than a plate of crap you've made all by yourself It's not for everyone admittedly though.

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-02-17 16:11:54 +0000 UTC]

Im glad to hear it isnt just me with the whole drink thing... although I have a feeling we've discussed this. UHURRR but my food just tastes worse! Even if I replicate everything my mum does it turns out either... really mushy or just black and hard [hmm that turn of phrase could be misinterpreted]

[Thanks for the faves man they're very very much appreciated!]

True, it's kind of flogging a dead horse, lol.

I wonder what keeps going wrong. Are you not paying enough attention to the timing? Are you trying things that are too complicated before getting the basics down?

[No problem, you deserve them]

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-02-28 15:48:20 +0000 UTC]

Complicated? Pasta, and I still burn it. I think its just me. Whatever I touch I just fuck up XD

You'll just need to find/hire/kidnap an Alastair, lol. You wouldn't be the first person to have trouble with cooking

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-02-28 20:26:53 +0000 UTC]

Ah but the british are stereotypically bad at cooking. I mean if I'm going to go the the trouble of kidnapping someone that'd have to be from a foody country, like france. Do we know anyone french? *suspicious look around*

All I can think of is a certain Italian, who would probably go with you willingly in exchange for somewhere indoors to sleep.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-01 16:19:14 +0000 UTC]

But... he'd pee in my bed ;___; or on my floor I haven't decided where he'd sleep yet. Oh yeah I forgot Italians make good food, pastas nice but Im not a massive fan of pizza [I shit you not]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-01 18:52:50 +0000 UTC]

You could always buy him a dog basket to sleep in, until he's house trained at least.

So poor Al wont be getting your custom any time soon? There's always lasagna of course, if you want the Garfield diet Not to mention ice-cream, risotto, polenta, ect...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-01 20:46:49 +0000 UTC]

Ah he'd be like a dog I wouldn't have to walk, just serenade me with his guitar. Doesn't sound like a bad deal but I'd have to keep washing his PJ trousers.

Hah unless they offer a damn good pizza, Pizza Express is super since but those guys are professionals. Ohman italians make other food! Stone the crows! Wow you can see how much I know about foreign cuisines.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-02 18:47:03 +0000 UTC]

That sounds nice, I didn't know/forgot he could play guitar. Also, if he had seven pairs, you could just include them in the weekly load like pants and socks.

I'm afraid I didn't quite get the last couple of lines, were they sarcasm?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-03 00:30:40 +0000 UTC]

I'd have to buy like, 7 pairs of PJ trousers! Man this is getting expensive I might have to pull out [well.. unless I get them from Primark for a quid each.]
Meh don't blame you with the guitar thing, it was supposed to be kinda vuaguely important but I neglected it a bit. Whateves.

Yeah sorry that was sarcasm. I was remarking about how I forgot italians made other food other than pizza and pasta. That or I was being deliberately steriotypical. Who knows *xfiles music*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-03 10:38:09 +0000 UTC]

Considering what his clothes are like now, I doubt he'll mind Primark. Plus look at all the potential services he provides [debating putting a smiley face here, in case it gets misinterpreted].

Don't worry, it's just I can be a bit dense at times when it comes to recognising it. Why can I smell Morley smoke I wonder?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-03 16:13:12 +0000 UTC]

Potential services? Hes a 21 year old toddler with a thing for fat chicks! Hah I'll try not to think about it. XD Services in the way of food however, that I can deal with. I'd need him to come to uni with me so he can do all my cooking, which I dispise.

Don't worry man sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet atall. Then again people can't tell with me in real life either. I'd better sort that out...

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-03 17:58:41 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-03 18:49:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeaahhh couldn't stand staying in my house any longer, even if I do have everything done for me. I'm still waiting on my last offer OTL, its pretty stressful. What about you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-03 19:17:45 +0000 UTC]

Got my offers sorted, so I'm just waiting on the student finance website to pull their finger out. I'm going to be commuting for at least the first year though; the uni isn't that too away and I'm nowhere near ready to live by myself yet. I'm getting itchy feet now and then, but I keep it at bay by rearranging my bedroom.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-03 19:58:33 +0000 UTC]

I'm nowhere near ready to live by myself either but I thought I'd have to throw myself in at the deep end if I was ever going to start being more indipendant. I'm dreading it I really am. Ohman I havent even started thinking about finance yet, I was going to apply when I'd got my final reply. Where was it you were going again? [Ive also forgotten what you were studying]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-04 22:11:39 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like a lot to take care of. But you seem very mature, so I'm sure you can handle it

The finance website supposedly opens around the 13th, so perhaps give them until then to respond? Unless you really want to go there, I don't see much point in being held back by them when you have four already.

Hoping to study Childhood Studies at Anglia Ruskin.

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-06 00:26:33 +0000 UTC]

I'm not mature I'm really not, can't use a washing machine to save my life. Dunno what I'm gonna do.

Oh yeah it does, I heard the 16th but I'm sure its round about that date so whateves. Lots of forms to fill out I can imagine. At least I get the whole shebang in terms of grants so that'll help. It was my first choice uni so yeah I did want to get in, but I got my offer today so I can stop worrying ^ ^U.

Whooaaa thats a new one on me, what does it involve?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-06 13:50:34 +0000 UTC]

You might find there are more independant people there who will be happy to help you adjust, not to mention the university itself. I doubt it would want you to drop out just because you can't cope with living alone for the first time, and they've probably had hundreds of students before in the same position. For now though, perhaps ask your family to teach you how to do chores (such as the washing) in return for doing some for them? That way you can practice it too.

That's great, I'm really pleased for you The form does seem to be very long judging by last year's one, and you need to have some documents with you before you start. I think it mentions them on the site.

It's a mixture of several social sciences in the context of education and childhood (psychology, sociology, ect). There's also scope for me to go in depth with disabilities, which is the field I wish to work in.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-06 16:38:28 +0000 UTC]

Hah yeah that was the plan, I'm sure if I can get the cooking down the rest will follow. I'll have to get round to doing the whole finance thing but I've got so much work piled upon me I'm just gonna focus on that for the time being.

Oohhhh I see, that sounds so interesting! Its good you know where you want to go on life, I just chose a general digree because I had no idea what I want to do now I've ditched my art and design path.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-06 19:05:46 +0000 UTC]

Good idea, once your work's done you'll at least have the long summer to get everything sorted. I'd get to the finance quickly though, because apparently it can take ages to be processed.

Thanks What made you ditch art and design though? You're good at the art part.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-06 19:36:48 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah I heard if youre very late with it, it can take till christmas to come through, which is obviously not ideal. XD

Umm... several reasons. > Everyone in my school is mind blowing so felt I wasn't good enough > I like it as a hobby > Lectures, seminars and extra reading sounds alot more appealing than hours and hours of work and sleepless nights [not that I wont have my fair share of that] > Im more interested in political theory than art theory > Art foundations arent funded > Less chance of a job at the end. So yeah combinations of that really. Hah oh and thanks ^ ^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

avian-reader In reply to Sukai-yume [2011-03-06 20:25:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, although I did hear a couple of days ago that the uni's realise this, and are quite lenient about it as a result.

Ah, I can see where you are coming from when you put it like that. So you're doing a politics degree?

[By the way, from tomorrow we'll have been having this conversation for a month XD]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sukai-yume In reply to avian-reader [2011-03-07 19:46:05 +0000 UTC]

Wow I love how all these finance businesses and unis are really sympathetic to students. They probably know we're a bit pants with it all.

Yeah I figgured it'd give me the best chance of a job, I'm pretty sure I like it... What made you want to do childhood studies btw?

[Oh my god I'm sorry, I didn't realise I'd been rambling for this long XD]
