Thank you for your art. I've actually started work as 3d modeler/texturer for some mobile mmo rts and your art is a great inspiration.
just wondering - have you tried some texturing soft other than Bodypaint+3ds max+Photoshop. I use the same and it actually works but maybe there's some handy alternative.
Hope to see more of your art!

yup! when i made my thief girl i was experimenting a lot, i tried Zbrush's polypaint and zapplink (projection exported to photoshop), also gave a few tries to 3dCoat (which is very popular nowdays), but i heard Blender is capable of it too, and there's also Mari 3d and Deep Paint (i've tried DP but i didn't have too much luck with it)
as far as exporting your projection plane into PS Bodypaint beats em all, but painting directly onto your model maybe 3dCoat is one of the best.. hope it helped

I also tried zbrush a bit but as I know there's only single layer painting, mudbox is pretty good in 3d painting but needs some time to get used to it's workflow.
Used 3dCoat only to make UV's layout because of speed and easy unwrap workflow .. need to try painting too. And Mari is also next to try.
Thanks for your advice! Need to get into experimenting establishing own workflow.
