I've been rather busy of late as my writing finally took off in my mind. So I never did get a chance to look at your Genesis thread....
But. In light of that particular topic I did wonder if I might ask your opinion / critique on the very first piece of said writing. I know your life is busy so no worries if you can't.
Caveat: a lot of it Will look familiar
Genesis According to the LirCHAPTER ONE: In The Beginning
In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word IS God. And Creation was without Being, formless, timeless and void. And God was alone.
And so seeking an end to His solitude, God stretched out His hand and spoke forth the Powers of Creation, understood to us as βLet There Be Light.β And there was Light. And in this Light God brought forth His heavenly hosts, who shall minister to Creation. And the Echo of His Words shall be visible unto the End of Time.*
And so that all things shall have their order God began Time. And time moved back and forth as was His wish; a Day could last a thousand years, or a billion. A billion years might pass as a single Day. Such is Godβs Might and control.
God saw that the light was good, and gathered it into a myriad of forms so that it might shine upon those wonders to come. The sun and Suns, Day and Night He created. And there was evening, and there was morning- the First Day.

At least in 2012, I suppose.
I suppose I also don't like my misspellings.

Thank you. I like Origen myself (seeing as I did my research on him), but Tertullian is a fine theologian, too.
Have a good one!

No problemo!
On a related note, I've got a question I would like to ask you regarding Tertullian.
Why isn't he canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church? I've heard he isn't, but if I am wrong about it, please don't hesitate to correct me.

What ultimately ran Tertullian into trouble was his adherence to Monatism, which in short was believing that the Holy Spirit was superior to the apostolic teaching. They were also moral rigorists that often discounted the faith of others.
While he was 'condemned' postumously after his death, it was really the group he belonged to that was condemned, and its leader Monatus. Tertullian was still very influential among many Latin Fathers and pivotal, along with Origen, for early Patristic literature.
