I just now signed up just so that I can keep track of some people's artwork. Hi, guys.

The only 'deviance' I've created is my avatar thing. There isn't exactly a category for 'deviant politcal thought' listed.

The avatar was originally going to be a compass rose. Though, in futzing with it, I ended up breaking the circle around the arrows.

Normally, the compass rose symbolizes (to me, at least) the order which correlates the map to the territory. It is the statement that there is reason, order, direction here. The totality of the sphere is given a reference - and is therefore able to be pragmatically applied. Since the arrows extend beyond the sphere, they indicate and outward momentum, the sense that "yet more is possible - and we're on our way there." It is therefore, in my opinion, the universal symbol for "Empire."

Not sure what it means to have the circle pierced by the arrows, in this case. Normally broken circles are symbols of discordance. Perhaps reason has overthrown its proper bounds? Or perhaps the sphere of the conceivable has been broken and there is to be a revolution - and a new map drawn?

Mostly, I just liked the pic better that way.
