They're so much fun! And they're holding me over until I can get to Levi's and Saskia's chapters. Eren's is almost done, but it needs A LOT of editing...as in shrink it by four or five pages. Maybe even six. So it's gonna be a while I think...

Dude, same. There's gonna be hints and mentions of their relationship throughout the other chapters, because the whole point of intermission isn't just to show that everyone deserves some screen time but the ways everyone is connected. Like the first kiss in Mikasa's chapter is also in Eren's chapter but from his perspective and his internal monologue. That's a huge challenge but I'm enjoying it. 'Cause it's not just thoughts but general descriptions too, like in Mikasa's chapter I can say how what appears Eren is feeling (that he seems nervous, for example) but his chapter I have to describe his emotional state (that he is nervous). I have to try really hard to pay attention to little things like that so it really feels like the chapter belongs to the character it's meant for.

But since intermission is about being (inter)connected then it's inevitable we'll see glimpses of everyone's struggles and triumphs through multiple eyes. So there will be mentions of the changes in their relationship before their chapters, just nothing with them front and center yet. Seriously though, challenging as it is I'm having a lot of fun with this arc. Even the 'filler' scenes contribute something important, like the dragonfly symbolism in Mikasa's chapter tying in to her famous line about the world being cruel and beautiful.

Gah I'm just rambling now and I was supposed to be in bed twenty minutes ago but I had to respond and now here we are lol. I should have some time to polish up Eren's chapter tomorrow so hopefully it's up before the end of the week!!!

Totally being the ego-booster friend here, but don't undermine your skills! You have a natural talent for storytelling and reconnecting, so when the chapter comes, so will your intentions I might not communicate this directly to you, but you breathe life into Isayama's characters as much as you do your own, and that said, believe me when I say you as a writer and as a storyteller and as an individual have the rare ability to bring the whole cast together: story, characters, and all. Fillers are just as important, as you said, and the dragonfly motif that you're designing for Mikasa showcases that cruelty and beauty that YOU are pulling together, not as separates but as one. 

And ramble as much as you need! I love listening to your thought process and am so, so grateful to have found a lifelong friend in you! I'm so grateful to Isayama, more grateful to you, always

I'm doing better now physically but I had a rough day after seeing my shrink earlier, and being overwhelmed by muh feelz got me to finally start writing again.  So I'm happy about that.  I can't promise a release date, but it's coming together.  And I have some beautiful cover art picked out that I got permission to use, so I'm really excited to share that too

I have been! And I'm not worried...yet. They didn't check his pulse to confirm. There's still hope!

Right now I think the hardest part is figuring out what to write for whom in this monstrous task I've given myself. A lot of the Historia chapter is about adjusting to being queen and balancing her soldier life with that, and the role Ymir plays...but it's a lot harder to write than Hanji's was since Hanji id at the center of everything now thay she's in charge. Historia is mostly...elsewhere. And it's hard to write that in a way that seems interesting and relevent without becoming filler, ya know?
