Sam wasnt even sure how they ended up in New York but somehow the pair of Shapeshifters they had been following had lead them there. Evryone was tierd none of them had had a proper sleep in atleast a few days. Even now he was aware of Castiel slumped agains his sholder in a exauseted dayze, on Castiels other side was Dean who had just been stareing up at all the lights for the past fifteen minuites. He he had his fingerd weaved together with Castiels at his side and his face was iluminated by sharp artificial lights but Sam couldent help but notice the his blank expression punctuated by the still drying blood above his eye.
“Dean?” He was almost suprised by puff of white that acompanied his breath as he spoke, When had it gotten so cold?
“Dean?” He repeated
“Yeah Sammy…”
“I’m gonna go find us somewere to stay for the night”
Dean just nodded and The moment Sam moved to stand up he receved a half-hearted glare from Castiel before the Ex-Angle gave a long sigh and turned to lean on Dean instead. It didn’t feal right , he had to leave his brother and his angle on some bench in the middle of New York. He could hear Cas mummble something as he walked away to which Dean replied;
‘Sam’ll be right back’ kay?’
He had to keep reminding himself that they would take care of themselvs.
Sam had only gotten a few blocks when something caught his eye, a large snowflake made of bright white and blue lights mounted high up on an office building. It couldent be December alredy could it? Only a few days ago had they taken down a bunch of homacidal idiots in Halloween costumes. How wad he not noticed this alredy, evrything was practicly drownding in bright lights and plastic decorations.
“Excuse me Ma’m but do you know wha day it is” Sam caught the attention of middle adged woman in a fur coat passing by.
“I believe its…Sunday”
“No sorry, I ment the Date”
“Oh! That would be the twentythird” She smiled brigtly
“Thank you very much” The woman gave a polight nod moved on and so did Sam but all the time he was thinking; Tommorow was Chrismas. He couldent remember his last actual Christmas, any in the past years had either been disastorous or compleatly overlooked. There was no way it couled be overlooked this year, he simply wouldent alowe it atleast not as they were in New York.
For the second time that night the lights caught his eye. This time the lights were wraped around a giant tree, Sam had wanderd to Rockefeller square in his lazy search for a hotel. There were dozens of people ice skateing, it was just like evry movie depicted New York during the Hollidays. But then there was that damn statue of Prometeus, it made him feel uneasy. A child of the Titans who brought fire to humans and was punished by being sent to the bowls of the Earth to be pecked at by a large bird for the rest of eternity. What was it with gods and eternity.
Sam was suddenly freezing, he just wanted to find a cheap hotel so he could go back to hold Castiel and Dean and Kiss them both.
