Just to say AC was an amazing game and I have many fond memories going questing or hunting with my friends.

I played on and off from 2000 until around 2005 on Leafcull.

No other MMORPG I've played since has felt so unconstrained and limitless.

It felt a very pure game with very little hand-holding. If you roll a gimp because you don't know what youre doing and decide to go to an area that is far too difficult, the game let you get on with it and you learn the hard way.

Turbine should do a sequel to Asheron's Call, a proper classless, skills and stats based game with all the bits AC1 players loved so much.

I honestly think Asheron's Call 2 would have done much better if they made it a standalone franchise in its own right with its own story and named it something else. It was so unrelated to the original in every other respect it left the fanbase from the original unimpressed and annoyed.

Every few months I check the Turbine site in the hope that there will be an announcement of an AC1 sequel!
