# About me

Hey y’all! My name is Olivia, and I’m from South Carolina. I’ve lived here for all my life, and probably will for the rest of my life, unless i decide to travel the world. I’m a Christian, a natural blonde, and music lover, and I value my relationship with God above all other relationships. God is my priority, and will remain my priority. :)
But, some general things about me are that I’m a self-taught musician that plays by ear. I play what I’d like to call a multitude of instruments, those being the piano, flute, guitar, harmonica, ukulele, jaw harp, and the recorder, if you want to count that last one. I'm also currently teaching myself the banjo. I’ve been playing since I was two years old, and plan to make a career out of music, but it’s so hard for me to choose between music and becoming a mineralogist. I love rocks and minerals, and have self-acquired an approximate knowledge them. I have a massive collection, and will not hesitate to blow money on rocks, pretty or ugly! But, I’ll go down whatever path God leads me to...
I have several nick-names, those being Olive, Livvi, Libby, Liv, Oli, La La, and Bell. But, you can call me whatever you like. Speaking of names, as you can see by my username, I love snails. They were my 'thing” as a young child. But, they are greatly outranked by tigers and wolves, which are my top favorite animals.
I’m a visual artist, and have yet to develop my own style. It pains me to say that, but I have retired an old style of mine, due to the fact of it being excruciatingly sloppy, and outdated. However, I have been trying to acquire and develop a new style; one I can call my own. I guess I’ll just have to follow the bouncing ball!
Anyway… this is getting kind of long, so I’m just gonna cut short and end it here. But that’s the majority about me… So… Don’t hesitate to ask if y’all need prayer of any kind, or just someone to talk to. My ears are always open! Have a great day, and God bless!!!

I'm excited about the new group, I was almost thinking about starting my own but you've already done the work for me! (Probably better that way seeing as I'm going to be leaving in February for 3 months of intensive discipleship at Ellerslie [you can look into it if you like at ellerslie.com, I totally recommend it, they are in Colorado and I attended one of their weeklong conferences in October and I came back with such a desire to know Jesus and keep my eyes fixed on Him, because for that entire week that was my whole pursuit and focus, it was like heaven for a lover of Jesus!]), but I'm going to try to post daily until then. I actually have just recently returned to DA as a Christian. I was here before as a lover of darkness, and I was hoping there might be more Jesus lovers out there. I am pleased to meet you! Have a merry Christmas!

Oh cool! I looked at their website and that's very interesting! I will have to do further research on that place when i'm able! However, i'm sad to hear you're leaving for three months! But, i know that if that's God's plan for you, then so be it! Im so happy to learn about another Christian person on DeviantArt as well! But yeah, post as much as you like! I'd love to fill up this group! Im glad to have met you as well! And have a very blessed Christmas to you too!

Yeah, I learned about Ellerslie when I was in community college, and between classes I would be watching Eric Ludy's  (he's the main teacher at Ellerslie) sermons. Ah, I did not like college. Reading my human services textbooks I felt like the words were purposely written to attack my Christian belief system in the name of 'intelligence.' (Have you ever been to college? If so, what was the experience like for you?) Praise God that I don't care about being intelligent anymore. I'm supper Excited to be entering into a school for three months that will uphold and undergird my Christian beliefs as well as serve to more firmly root and more deeply ground me into the person of Jesus Christ. And, you don't have to answer this if you don't feel comfortable with it, but what is your first name? (I'd just feel weird if I called you snail-lady in my head. XD) Mine's Tiffany, and you are free to call me LifeinJesus in your head if you so desire.

The-Snail-Lady In reply to TalithaChristian [2015-12-04 18:27:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh, haha, I totally understand what you mean by the intelligence thing. But, no I have not been to college. I'm actually a sophomore in high school, lol. I'm really glad to hear about that Christian college though... and I'm also really glad to hear that you'll be able to better root and devote yourself to Him, because, after all, that is most important in this life!... (That, and winning people over to Christ.) Lol.

And yeah... hehe about my username... when I was young I used to have a "thing" with snails... so when I created this account a couple years ago, the username just HAD to be about snails...lol. I don't like is as much now, but I can't change it, so I've learnt to deal with it...lol. But, my name is Olivia, by the way. Nice to properly meet you, Tiffany.

That's amazing! Sophomore year was arguably the darkest time in my life. Praise God that you are a sophomore! I would definitely encourage you to try to reach the other students with the gospel. (I wish someone would have tried to reach me back then! Of course, I know the Holy Spirit was trying to reach me, but He does need a body to work through!) I should have been more diligent about this in college, but every time I tried (in my own strength) to be bold for Jesus, I, like Peter before the Holy Spirit came to indwell him, proved what a coward I really was. Now I'm starting to realize that boldness for the gospel only comes from abiding in Christ, through whom the gospel was boldly fleshed out. "Not by might, saith the Lord, nor by power, but by My Spirit," Zechariah 4:6. I believe that it is only when we devote ourselves to Jesus Christ that we can be effective soul winners. One of Ellerslie's core messages is BOLD CONFESSION, and the following is a summation of what they teach about it:

Our modern age is aggressively becoming anti-Christian and every believer must make a choice of where to stand. Similarly, throughout history there have been two churches: the silent church and the confessing church. Will you grow silent and sign upon the dotted line of the culture? Or will you stand for truth, becoming a part of the praying, confessing Church? Throughout the Ellerslie Discipleship Training, students are taught the Good News of Jesus Christ and how to boldly go into all the world in pursuit of lost souls. They will hear the commission for the Church to return to relentless Christianity and will be prepared for the spiritual battle that lies before them.

Ah, this is such a desire in my soul! In the past weeks I've been abiding in Christ, and what came as a natural outflow of that, is for the first time in my life, I'm successfully engaged in an evangelistic endeavor: Christmas Card Evangelism. I bought two boxes of cards from Walmart and now I'm working on personally seeking God on what to say in the cards to each of the people in four areas of my life: workplace, family, spiritual family, and neighbors. I even sent out a couple evangelistic emails. Most of the cards to people at my work flow from a very limited knowledge of the actual people but use that to try and present the gospel to each of them in a way they could understand it. I have not passed these cards out yet, but I have great expectancy as to how Christ is going to work in and through me and these cards that, by His grace I am writing, to point them to Him.

Nice to meet you too. I'm sure our meeting is no accident, but was in the mind of God. That's funny about the snails, I used to have a thing about lizards, and chasing them, and catching them, and watching in a mixture of shock and awe as their tails fell off their bodies but continued to wiggle around. But my username used to be Cool-Not-Crazy. I'm glad in a way that I was unable to recover my old account because I no more desire to be Cool in the eyes of this society, and am willing to be seen as Crazy-For-CHRIST. And I am infinitely glad that my username is not the-lizard-lady. And now I can say a proper Merry Christmas: Merry Christmas Olivia!

Oh, yeah i usually try to share the gospel of Christ with people who dont know God, but it can be difficult at times... and sometimes people throw their own information about their religions back in your face... but i try because i know the Lord will always find a way to make sure everyone will know Jesus in the end.
That bolded message is very interesting... I really like how they think...
That Christmas card thing is really cool! im excited to hear how that will all tun out! you will definitely have to keep me updated on how that turns out!
Oh i love lizards as well! And i too believe that our meeting was not accident! lol... And have a merry Christmas to you too, Tiffany!

TalithaChristian In reply to The-Snail-Lady [2015-12-05 15:33:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, He wants to use us as His body so that everyone will have the opportunity to know Jesus. I think the main thing is to pray for those who are blinded by lies, that they may see Jesus is the truth.
And, I will keep you updated.
It was funny, at work yesterday my dad called me and asked me if I knew anything about lizards. I was like, "not really" and he was like "oh, I was just wondering what my friends big, pet lizard was," and I said "Komodo Dragon?"

Yes, we are His servants! Let's live to please HIM, rather than other people.

I was inspired by my journal to start a group today . However, if there's anything I post that you would like in your group, I will always say yes. I want to do whatever I can to help you make your group better, etc.

yeah i'd love to join!

And i have not had the chance to listen to the sermon yet, but i plan on doing so in the near future!

TalithaChristian In reply to The-Snail-Lady [2015-12-08 19:06:59 +0000 UTC]

Awesome!

Yeah, the sermon is really good. I was so convicted the first time I heard it, and, this was the second I've listened and I was just like "Amen!" the whole time. Jesus has worked those things of darkness that the sermon mentioned out of me as well as those things of Himself that the sermon mentioned into me so that now I'm in alignment with His purposes, at least in the regard of art. As soon as you listen, let me know what you thought of it.
