# About me

I am an aspiring "artist librarian." An artist librarian isn't really a profession, but a term I made up to describe my educational journey. I am earning my undergraduate degree in art and will be attending graduate school for my Masters in Library & Information Science with the goal of becoming a children's or young adult (YA) focused public librarian. Reading and art have been my two life-long loves, so why not combine them?

My formal training has been primarily in drawing and painting, but I've attempted to branch out into other media such as printmaking, sculpture, and fiber art ... As a result, I am a bit of a "jack of all trades, master of none" type. Well, I'll let you take a look yourself and decide...

I am a life-long crafter and have a high respect for artisans and craftsmen --despite what certain fine arts professors may say, I believe craft can be fine art. That being said, I've delved in many arts and crafts such as crochet, knitting, jewelry making, origami, balloon twisting, sewing (primarily clothes or plushies), and more!

I also enjoy costuming and have recently begun to focus on it ... I'm excited to expand my sewing skills and explore prop making, wig styling, and armor building as well.

As tuition for graduate school is expensive, I'm open to the idea of commissions! I am skilled in multiple forms of media and techniques, so stay tuned for more details to come soon!

So that's just a bit about me and and the types of art you might expect from me ... For more information or updates, check out or subscribe to my blog or Facebook page below! Thanks for stopping by!

Aw, thank you!  I worked really hard to make the proportions of the skirt panels and such correct, so that makes me really happy.

OMGoodness, you should definitely watch the first movie ... it will add so much more meaning to the events in the sequel when you do ...  Isn't the animation amazing? Yes, I actually wore this costume to the premiere (there were a couple other people dressed up also, so that was neat).  I can't wait to get the blu-ray ...

Aw, you have a smart boyfriend.    I would let you borrow my copy, but I've loaned it to someone else to watch and haven't gotten it back yet (she also skipped the first movie).

LOL, I actually do have pictures --I just haven't uploaded it anywhere yet.  I'll let you know where I end up putting them.

Hello!  Thanks for the watch back.  I'm working on sorting through photos to add to my gallery, but I hope to upload very soon.  I love your How to Train Your Dragon cosplays!  It's so detailed ... Do you know how your Astrid made her axe?  I'm currently working on my own HtTYD2 Astrid, but I've never made props.  Yes, I was at K-Kon on Saturday!  I think I was the only Suki from Avatar the Last Airbender that day.

Yes, I remember you!  (I looked you up on FB after I saw the comments on your page).  We're both in the costume guild, right?  Astrid is Elendriel Alastair on FB, so you can ask her yourself.  But I know it's her original axe from the first movie, so it's pretty old, and I don't think she entirely remembers how she made it.  I thought it might have been heavily reinforced tagboard?  And then it has some hardware pieces for detail, like some cap nuts, etc.

Yep, I'm a member there!  Okay, awesome --I'll look her up and ask.  Thanks again and congrats on winning the Dreamworks Dragons contest!  May I ask where you guys were planning to go to the HTTYD 2 premiere?  I was looking for June 12 showings but only saw Pearlridge at 8pm, but my friend said Ward is the best place ...

we are planning to to to Ward on the 13th.  I don't know what time yet (times are not yet announced), but we will probably make an announcement on the Guild page in case any other costumers want to come.
