# About me
FAQ:What do you use for your arts? Anything and everything around; I'm pretty flexible...
How long does your art usu. take you? Really depends on several factors: weather, mood, life, lawlz. But if I'm in a really good place and in a creative mind, ehh, anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours
How bad of a fan are you? Ohh, I'm pretty bad, but I deceive by acting like a closet case, bwahaha...
Now then...
Greetings my fellow deviants! Here is a wee bit about meself~
I am firsthand a daydreamer, secondly a writer and artist, thirdly a nerd, and fourthly a hopeless fangirl
I am a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi, so there will most likely be a flood of random stuff in my gally under those genres
I am an animation junkie and I like almost any movie that contains such. I am not a video gamer, but I like video games. I am also an amateur Whovian, as well as a padawan anime/manga nut; but only a padawan
I am creative, (brutally) honest, smiley, talkative and optimistic
My buckaroo in crime is Bug-Cider
My favorite characters are: Batty Koda, Jeremy Crow, Lampy, Gir, Pterano, Strut, Zippo, Rattlesnake Jake, Wheatley, Stefano, Edward, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rev Runner, Bugs Bunny, Starscream, Ratchet
Personal Quote: I tend to underexaggerate, but only a little :D

Hi, new friend and watcher~...
Love ur artwork...
Mostly your Land Before Time as humans~...
I even made an OC, Robin (named her after my mother), a young woman who works as an assistant manager/accountant for her mother and father and also βworksβ in the library and also a housekeeper sometimes.
-
Robin: My father has VERY different views about your uncle, Petrie...Narcissistic, Selfish, and...(sees Pterano)...Absolutely sexy~...
(Cute guys are one of her weaknesses...Ex: Strut and Ichy)
Btw - What would Ichy and Dilβs occupation be~...?

Hey Battycrow I am sorry that I didn't see you finish your BattyKoda story. Yet I was glad to read it though, it appears you tied it together very nicely my friend. I hope that you come back to silverwing again sometime. I do miss seeing you on the forum, but I am certain your kind of busy.
Still I am glad that you are still around. I am almost done with the new version of the website and I hope that maybe once its finished you can fill it with your bat art.

Not right now, I'm still in the process of getting back and I'd like to get as much of my own work uploaded before I start on anything else.

I know that you still have your old Fanfiction account still around, I am trying to create a new rp for the site but at the time I don't have the time I used to.
However in its place I have created Duelingpets.net www.duelingpets.net
A virtual pet site where users can create their very own pets, plus the forum is setup for maximum flexibility.

Ah yes! Good to see the tie-ins from DinoSapien and Dinotopia - sapience has always fascinated me, especially in regards to dinosaurs you might be thinking, "no, really?" XDD) and I'll be trying out a new approach with my OC Thatcher...Β
Some smarts combined with primal instincts. Should be an interesting mix. Always wondered how that would pan out. Maybe a bit like schizophrenia?

In Western culture at least, we tend to make a distinction between "instincts/emotions" and reason. Maybe that traces back to Freud or something, idk. Than again maybe not, since Freud said that the reasoning part of us, the ego ("the I"), was merely an extension of the instinctive unreasoning part, the id ("the it"). This is in the sense that the purpose of the ego is to help the id get what it wants while not offending our moral sense, the super-ego ("above I"). Whatever... While smarts is necessary to understand the long-term reward, it isn't sufficient for delayed gratification. We all know smart people with impulse control problems (ourselves included ). Even so, gratification, no matter how long delayed, typically entails the satiation of some combination of primitive drives. In other words, we're all ultimately driven by instinct, no matter how intelligent we are. In this regard, is there a meaningful difference between a human and an uplifted dromaeosaurid? Maybe just a lack of self-control and innate social graces. A kind of naive autistic honesty such as that which your Thatcher exhibits.

TheBattyCrow In reply to Transraptorism [2016-06-09 15:40:26 +0000 UTC]
That does seem to be the case; aΒ big push to be objective around social media especially
I've often wondered why the two can't be combined... other than the fact that explosive temperaments a solid reasoning do not make XDD
Smart people with impulse control? *looks around* XD
I agree; I believe they could have the potential to learn and speak and possibly reason, but keeping in mind that they are wild animals, or at least they operate by instinct. I think it'd be a 50-50 sort of result. Like Thatcher, yesh

Transraptorism In reply to TheBattyCrow [2016-06-10 00:59:36 +0000 UTC]
Oh, but they are combined, it's just that the emotions people color things with are subtle and insidious, so much so that they mistakenly convince themselves that they're capable of rational thought in the first place; that objective truth is something that should be obvious to everyone. The basic anthrocentric hubris that underlies many of our sins as a species. Conspicuous "explosive" emotions are actually much less of a threat to reason than the subtle ones, because we can clearly see the boundary. If a primitive organism were to be artificially uplifted, it's reasoning faculty would likely be less integrated with it's base drives; the "schizophrenic" effect you mentioned. But while some may see this as vice, I see virtue, a mind at the mercy of emotion yet untainted by it. So Thatcher would probably think "rationally", but act on instinct. Would that make him a very frustrated dinosapien, or would he have a sort of fatalistic acceptance that his instincts run the show and his higher-level faculties are mostly just along for the ride?

TheBattyCrow In reply to Transraptorism [2016-06-13 20:10:43 +0000 UTC]
I can see him as someone who gets easily frustrated due to the way he thinks or perceives things, and others might not know how to handle him, or communicate. I believe he would act similarly to a young child, but have the capability of some higher reasoning. I just don't think he would show that side as often because he's too fidgety and wouldn't dwell for too long in some place or state of mind.
Ohh, I got sad reading that last statement. Then again, both sides sort of make sense in regards to Thatcher. He tries to think things through, but is ultimately a slave to his many fears and anxieties. I'd like to think that he would be fine mentally, but when taking into account just what I've programmed into him, I know that wouldn't be the case. It's almost cruel in a way, but nonetheless fascinating. Lol, he's probably given me the most grief out of all my other OC's, mainly because I started creating him with the primary intent of making him a severely troubled character... I blame the Psych class I took at the time.

Transraptorism In reply to TheBattyCrow [2016-06-13 22:53:47 +0000 UTC]
Well, at least 50% of happiness is genetic, so Thatcher could just be happy all the time for no good reason.
That is, when he isn't being spooked by something. You draw comparisons with human children. I've heard living with an African Grey parrot described as being like having a 2 year old who never grows up. While I may have said Thatcher would seem autistic, that may not be, since even a parrot shows more interest in people than an actual autistic person would. Yet the social instincts of birds tend to produce strong pair-bonding so I'd expect Thatcher to have one close friend. For his sake, I hope said person is real and not imagined or a volley-ball with a face. lol
Seems like an endearing enough fellow, so I'm sure someone would want to take up that role, though conflicts with whatever corporate entity created him could ensue. IDK.
