I was just watching a video on youtube and something in it reminded me of you and your clay canes..I know you said you'd not heard of anyone doing anything like it before but I found this and it's quite an interesting variant on it; maybe you should check it out

Hi Tom.
thought I'd just share a WIP with you [link]
the two larger ones (especially the mounted head) have been inspired by your work and using your techniques with the pasta machine to get nice even cover - one has been in progress for almost a year!
been trying to push myself further with details on these.

don't want to post too many pics yet as want to get around to painting and share the finals. I've got quite a bit of painting to do - which isn't helped by these dark winter evenings

hope you like & stay awesome

It's great to see you uploading stuff here! I love your videos. I've seen all of them. They are so inspiring. You make me want to try creating some time lapses of my sculptures! I just need to figure out how to set up my camera for it.

Oh and thank you very much for subscribing to my youtube channel!

Thanks!! I only regret it taking so long for me to add content here.. I mean gosh, 2 year?!? And WOW!! All my videos that is a LOT of videos! I say go for it, but I warn you making time lapse videos will slow you down a bit.. It takes a lot of time to do them is all I'm saying so its sort of a trade-off as far as how much you can do. (unless you chose to film only certain projects. for some reason I feel I need to film everything and its almost trapping at times) But time lapse is so interesting to watch and of course I would check them out! Don't worry about camera angles at first, you figure that out as you go. Just do a sample video of you conditioning the clay then watch it. It won't always be perfect, I messed up a few times already myself! Or my bald head will just get in the way GRRRR.. And no problem!

Yeah, 2 years is a long time! Yup, I've been subscribed to you for a long while on youtube. I did a time lapse of a painting once using my iphone and it did take a long time. It was pretty challenging but I was happy with the results. I used an app called Lapseit. Thank you for all the tips! You're awesome.

Aha, me again; firstly thankyou for watching me!! *feeling honored*
May be a stupid question; just wondering what polymer clay actually is? Here in the UK we have something called fimo but you get it in really small blocks and it's very difficult to manipulate, and it's also very expensive! But you seem to have reams of the stuff. Where is it you get it from? Is it expensive?
Feeling really inspired by your polymer clay canes, right up my street with all the pixel stuff aha!
Thankyou for sharing your videos!

I been getting that question quite a bit now. It seems like people have a hard time getting this stuff overseas... I use Sculpey Premo. I have used some of the other brands too.. but they ALL are polymer clay nonetheless. Michales sometimes sells 2oz.packs 4 for $5 dollars equaling about $1.25 per pack. But it can be as high as $2.50+ per 2 oz. pack. They sell 1 lb bars for $9-14 a piece. I would check out different websites. like polymerclaysuperstore

Hi Tom, I've also just found you on DA. LOVE your videos so inspiring.
I've been trying out your style and it is a really good approach - could not live without my pasta machine now!
All I need to do is get some pieces finished so I can show you what you've inspired

dying to try make an animal bust of my dog after watching the tiger evolve. But I've promised myself to try finish things before starting more. looking forward to the reveal but really I live for the work in progress its just so interesting. keep it up

I'm just realizing that all my "drawings" photo's are outdated being there 10.2 mp pictures. I now have a 16 mp camera!!! So I'll retake photos of all my drawings ASAP! (plus I found missing drawings woohoo! I got to find them again but most likely you'll see a few new ones)

**the current photos in the drawings folder will be replaced with better ones so I hope you re-favorite them. I'll start with doing those first.. Better lighting, better camera!**
