I'm also on Archive of Our Own because all of my current fanfictions are against fanfiction.net's rules, unfortunately. Archive is a lot more lenient with their rules, which is nice, but it's still a new website so traffic is still pretty small in comparison to fanfiction.net.

I'm currently working on a Mass Effect art dump, but I've never heard of a writing dump. If it's the same but with writing, that means that it's just random scenes- some unpolished and shorter than the others, but all grouped together?

Yep, that's right I'm horrid at art, so I resort to writing, and when I see art dumps, I thought "what if there's a "writing" dump?" So I used it It's a good use if you had a good idea or some nice dialogue you want to put later in a story

It's a pretty nice site. I've gotten some extra feedback by posting on both DA and Archive of Our Own.

Ohh, that almost sounds like how I plan out chapters. I quickly summarize each chapter in a long list, then I expand upon them by adding in detail and bits of dialogue and ideas that I don't want to forget. Last night I was actually thinking about posting them at some point, because I usually act silly when I write out my plot lines, and they always end up looking like parodies

I might try turning some of my outlines into a "writing dump" format, it sounds like it's just about one step up from what I'm already doing, and might be beneficial for when I write out the actual chapters. I don't know about posting them though, I hate spoiling things :/

Haha, nice Sometimes ideas come at the worse times, i.e. while I was at school, an idea popped in my head all of a sudden while the teacher was talking about a test, I think about what the plot is, etc. while not listening to the teacher; I was just sitting there, staring off into space while I daydream about my new idea XD Same when I was trying to sleep for school or for a doctor's appointment. I usually "daydream" while I sleep so I can fall asleep, so ideas sometimes pop up all of a sudden and I couldn't sleep because of it XD

Go right ahead. If you're worried about spoilers...hm...maybe either put a warning in the Author's Notes saying to watch out for spoilers, or alternatively, not put the spoilers at all. That's my thoughts though

Awesome! I think there's still a wait time to join because they're in beta, but it only takes about a day to wait for an invite. I've never checked out livejournal or writing.com before. Do you not like the websites?

Haha, I did that all the time while at school. It was good for Art and English class, but was definitely a problem in math and science And I do the exact same thing when I go to bed- if I don't daydream, then I can't fall asleep, but sometimes that's what keeps me up too

I get most of my ideas when I go to bed or listen to music. I always end up zoning out and imagining really dramatic and badass scenes that go along with the music, or a character performing the song themselves. It's really fun, but sometimes I don't get anything done because I daydream for too long

I'll have to think about what to post. I might wait until I've completed the stories so people can read it if they want but not have anything spoiled.

I already sent the invite to them. Now waiting until tomorrow Writing.com is all right...it's just that they don't pay much attention to fanfics: it's mostly original stories. Livejournal...meh. I posted on there, but it seems that many of the groups and such are dead :/

Me too. Whenever I listen to music on my MP4 player or on my 3DS, I usually walk around the house. Somehow, walking with music blasting in my headphones keep my imagination going

I love how many options there are for submitting stories on Archive of Our Own, it's very detailed. There's even an option for co-authors! But AO3 also lacks some more of the personal features that fanfiction.net has, such as seeing who is subscribed to you. So it has it's ups and downs, but over all, I like it

And that's unfortunate about livejournal. It's hard getting noticed if your fandom isn't mainstream enough :/

I love how different genres of music can instantly change the mood of your thoughts- it really helps with planning out scenes! I'm not very good at fight scenes, so it really helps imagining it with rock/rap/fast paced music.

I actually want to get into animation and then make fan-music videos with my own characters or characters from fandoms by animating some of the scenes I imagine. Unfortunately, if I ever get around to it, it'll take years.
