I wish.. I am a self taught guitar, piano, drums, and wanted very much to play a cello... I absolutely love the sound they produce..
Anyway I found one a few years back a lady had forever in her family and bought it for a couple hundred and restored it.. Upon doing so I learned everything I could to set it up from reading and how to shape the bridge and made and set the sound post even all the way down to the proper glue to use when mating the face onto the body and shaping the neck even made my own tuning pegs I turned and tapered myself.. It had a solid wooden peg and I drilled and replaced it with a new adjustable metal one.. Stained and glossed it, then strung it up... bought a bow and rosin and love the sound it makes but can't really properly play anything
It was a love affair on its own just learning and rebuilding her.. Traced her back to London from a makers mark and date can't recall right off the top of my head but it was 1800's.. Would love to hear someone actually play it correctly.. Sorry for the long reply

Wow. I bet it looks and sounds absolutely amazing~ It sounds like a fine piece. It's a good thing you were able to restore it.
I used to play those instruments as well, although I wasn't respectably self taught. I had private instructors. I played drums for 5 years/general percussion for 2, including guitar and piano both 2-3 years. Also, I played violin for a few years but I was too young to remember now.
Is there a specific instrument you mainly focus your time on?

That's very cool.. Yeah I usually just pick up my guitar.. Haven't in some time though.. I have 2 full size acoustic electrics. And really love playing a smaller guitar I had a few and they are so easy to lay down with and play or take anywhere.. I really need to find another one.. You should look in my gallery there are photos of the cello.
