brony music is really good fun and all, but there just isn't enough intense stuff. this homestuck music I'm listening to is a lot darker than most of the brony stuff. I think this would be a good comparison actually:

as you can see, the two fandoms lend themselves to an entirely different sound, and while both encompass a large variety of genres and styles, you can still see an even divide between what's brony and what's homestuck. I feel personally that the Homestuck music feels somewhat more intense. I guess you could say more professional too. more work seems to go into i. like that song Pyrocumulus, that shit should be topping charts it's so damn good!
Brony music often lends itself to a more playful sound, especially seen in the song Starswirl the bearded. That would also make my list of all time favourites. Brony music also seems to lean more on the electronic side of music, as opposed to how homestuck music often relies more on standard rock tropes in their compositions.
This isn't a strict rule however; really anything can come out of either fandom. kind of like the song Between Fairytales and Happy Endings being a very basic rock song.

yet it amazes me that discord a brony song can be used and linked to homestuck, it is amazing how well it fits. while being a brony song it has a eletric sound to it but i tends to have a darker tone all together. but thing is not all the home stuck songs are dark like this but still a lot do have sad and down trodden beast and lyrics. wich honestly kinda saddens me. thats most likely why i like brony music, its upbeat and fun to listen to like this i like this rake of this song its well dont but i think the guy who made it tempera-rally got taken down, and amazingly he is not a borny, but i digress
