Yup, and as of yesterday school is officially out! I just got back from the graduation ceremony, which I'm glad to say was not as sad as I expected it to be. 'Specially since I know most of my senior friends won't be able to stay away.
Yeah, I got a couple replies. Most people are still being mean though.

That's good! Lucky yoooou... I have school through the summer. =w=;
Ah well... A couple is better than nothing. C'est la vie sur l'internet, eh?
And speaking of life: ZOMG do you SERIOUSLY live in MN?!

Oush, that sucks. I would lead a revolt if I ever had to go to school year-round.
Oui oui... eh.
Why YES I do! :[] Why, do you live there, too?

Eh, well, it's not SO bad. It was my idea after all. :\ But it's still sad.
Yes, yes I do! I live here too!
How cool is that?

It's a legit reason.
No- it's just a cultural event thing. D:
That' be awesome, though.
I've been to the fair almost every year since I was a youngin'.
I love the state fair- I go the the 4H building and check out neat stuff there, and the merch buildings- especially the anime kiosk! o3o
The state fair is more just a tradition for me and a good outing for the family- you see stuff, you do stuff, you get bored together, you make a day of it.
Maybe you're bored because you don't go with the right people? X3
B-but I only have one box and no real brownie ingredients! D:
Fail.

ユー ベッチャ!
Ah, it's sort of like... They dress up a bunch of people and maybe a part of the mall to look like traditional Korea and they have cultural exhibitions and Korean merchandise?
Haha, could be. I think hardly any of us really went to the fair regularly, so we're all like, "Guuuuys... What can we doooo?" "I dunnooooo... What can we dooo?" We went shop-browsing for a little bit, but I think all we bought was food. I didn't even know they had an anime kiosk, although now that I think about it, one of my friends who did not travel around with our large group may have said he was headed there when we ran into him and stole his cookies. :[]
Improvise! Add caramel, peanut butter, and marshmallows to make it bigger! *drools*

*doesn't have the correct language pack installed, so she can't read it*
I... Guess? I'm not sure, I've never been. I hope I attend at least one day this year, though.
Sounds like my family at about 2-4pm, lol XD Yus! They have an anime kiosk with tons of merch.! So I spend a good half hour there just browsing through the stuff they have. And, if we ever meet I'm keeping my cookies far away from you. (My macaroooons!)
Nuuuu~!!!! You RUINS IT!!! D: Pure brownie, I say! No additions!
You can't taint a good brownie with peanut butter and marshmallows. ;_;

Ouhh, it just said "You betcha!" in katakana.
What a coincidence, I've never been either.
What kind of merch do they carry? Probably anime DVDs, t-shirts and manga, but do they get a wider variety of stuff?
LOL! But srsly, we ate like half a bucket of his cookies. Your macarooooons will not stand a chance!
Wh... What if it's melted marshmallow mixed with chocolate syrup? If you can put caramel into brownies, why not something even awesomer?
Also I've always wanted to use peanut butter as a frosting for something.

TheRainbowLemon In reply to Piroshki [2010-06-23 16:10:28 +0000 UTC]
Ah, ok then.
Well, they carry CDs with soundtracks and J-pop/J-rock artists, a few t-shirts, lots of posters and wall hangings, keychains, applique patches, plushies, pins, magnets, notebooks, charms, merch according to certain anime, (I.E. Cardcaptors cards, FMA pocketwatch, etc.), some cosplay stuff, etc. I don't remember if they had anime DVDs or not, but they sure have a lot of other things. :3 The bulk of their merch. usually depends on what anime is hot that year, but they'll have lots of other series' merch at the same time so there's something for everyone.
(Big paragraph is big)
N-not the macaroons! ;_;
No! D: I don't even like caramel in brownies. (Or peanut butter most of the time... I'm weird.)

Hmm... Mayhaps I'll go check it out when the marching band goes there this year, if I don't have to go to school that day like I did last year. I need a decent Halloween costume for once, and if I find something I can wear to my school's Pops concert and possibly to Anime Detour, then that's just a plus. Never been to Detour before, but the past few years, I've just been dressing up as a random, uncoordinated assortment of crap from my basement.
Well, I suppose the macaroons can live for now. However, once I run out of powdered donuts and graduation cookies, I'll be coming!
I like the softening effect it has. And I figure melted marshmallows would probably have something similar. o3o
You mean you've actually had peanut butter in your brownies!? I've never actually tried it, but I figure it can't be anything short of fantastic.

TheRainbowLemon In reply to Piroshki [2010-06-26 16:02:13 +0000 UTC]
Ahaha, I totally understand- my Halloween costumes are horrible! And I think the one time I cosplayed it was a really -REALLY- cheap rendition of Nekozawa from Ouran Highschool Host Club at my tiny anime club. (I threw on a black cloak and made a Bereznov puppet and walked around like a creeper.) I've never been to Detour either, mostly because my parents used to go to other sci-fi cons and they've seen things no one should, so they were fearing for my unscarred eyes. But if I convince them enough I might have a shot at going next year. If I do, I'm totally cosplaying. >D
And... I'll be finishing off the macaroons today, so there!
Ah, no, I meant I'm not a big fan of peanut butter in general. I still like PB&J and Reeses, but only once in a while.

Piroshki In reply to TheRainbowLemon [2010-06-29 16:28:14 +0000 UTC]
Hah, yeah, for the past several years, all of my costumes have been a bunch of uncoordinated crap I found in my basement. I've wanted something decent for a while, but I haven't really had any ideas.
And there are definitely some eye-scarring things there, but they're not too hard to avoid.
You lie! I'm sure there are more in your house somewhere!
I like peanut butter a lot. I eat it on bananas, sometimes in ice cream, and if there's anything that is chocolate with peanut butter inside, I love it.

Well, yeah, drawing is awesome and if I learn to speak Japanese, or at least read it, I can eBay the cool video games over from Japan before they're released in America, if they ever are.
Passport to Korea wut. Are they having a contest to give away a trip to Korea or something?
xD I've only been to the state fair a few times. In all honesty, if you don't want to waste money on the few rides they have, there isn't a lot to do there. My marching band goes there for a parade every year, and I didn't go last year, but the year before that, we really didn't do a thing. We bought food then we just wandered for hours.
I say you do it! D:< Make 40 pounds of brownies!

Well, there are some good parts to school. There are lots of friends I don't get to talk to over the summer, and it gives me something constructive to do during the day besides internet, but I would go MAD without my breaks.
Nowai! How funny would it be if we actually already knew each other? What part do you live in? Do you live in the cities?

TheRainbowLemon In reply to Piroshki [2010-06-12 15:34:15 +0000 UTC]
I'm homeschooled, and I've got a flexible work schedule, so it really doesn't matter either way for me. The only difference is that it's nicer outside.
That'd be pretty funny. XD
No, but I live close enough- Wright county up by I94.

Piroshki In reply to TheRainbowLemon [2010-06-13 15:03:42 +0000 UTC]
Ah, homeschooled. That wouldn't be so bad; I plan to keep teaching myself as much stuff as I can over the summer. The kind of stuff that I'm going to take classes for next year. To gimme an edge.
Ah, then we probably haven't met.
*Googlemaps* Ooh, that is pretty close. I've got a couple friends who live up near there, and I was about to go to a parade that they're in today, but I got sick and I have a couple grad parties at the same time anyway.

TheRainbowLemon In reply to Piroshki [2010-06-13 19:05:26 +0000 UTC]
The fact that you can set your own work pace and get material that suits your needs helps. I think that's the thing I like about homeschooling.
Edges are good.
Awh. Oh well. Maybe someday.
You livin' down by the cities?
Hope you feel better, btw. I was feeling sick this morning myself.

Piroshki In reply to TheRainbowLemon [2010-06-18 15:36:01 +0000 UTC]
Haha, the only problem I'd have with homeschooling is that my parents don't remember/know anything about half the classes I'm taking or want to take. XP I wouldn't trust them to teach 'em to me.
Yea, I live in one of the smaller cities near Minneapolis. Hennepin county, by 169.
Thanks. Still not better, though. :c Now it looks like I might have pink eye or somethin', plus a bad cough and constantly plugged up nose. When they combine forces, they won't let me sleep. D: Urgh. Going in to see a doctor today, though, and hopefully I'll get something to make it all go away.

That's why you get curriculum that helps you self-teach. :3 s'what I do.
Ohay, that really isn't too far.
I make the occasional trip around there, usually to see my grandparents.
Good luck with the doc and meds and whatnot.
There is nothing worse than getting sick in the summertime- it always seems worse than any other time of year. >.< You should go eat cookies for that, and when it's gone, celebrate by eating more cookies.

Yupyup, I'm always teaching myself how to do new stuff. X3 Right now I'm trying to teach myself how to draw, speak Japanese, and play the flute.
Uh-huh, they're like neighboring counties. I've only been up your way to visit one friend in St. Michael, though. All my grandparents live a couple hours south, close to the Iowa border. ¬_¬
Thanks, turns out I do have pink-eye. On the bright side, though, that means I get another day off of work.
I always get sick in the summer. Last year, I fell off my bike and tore the skin off my palms the day we got out, and then I got swine flu the week after that. :c My immune system is awesome during the school year, still making me feel sick but not letting me stay home. When summer comes around, though, it's like, "Oh, no more school to miss! I guess there's no need to fight off infections now."
*sigh* But all my relatives are coming for my brother's grad party, so I'm going to get lots of cookies and brownies and other such snack bars.

Aaah... It seems like everyone is learning how to draw and speak Japanese these days. XD *did it too, but years ago*
Mhmm... I'm hoping to go down there to Bloomington next month for the Passport to Korea thing at the MOA- it sounds pretty exciting. o3o Yus.
Oh, ew. D: I'm sorry.
I felt so happy I dodged the swine flu outbreak last year at the state fair because we ended up not going for various reasons. XP Hopefully I'll be going this year, though.
Mmm... Brownies...
I need to make some. It's all your fault. X3

Sorry I scared you like that, I just couldn't resist after my quick visit!
