How do you rip the Genisis sprites/backgrounds?

I ripped some of the backgrounds from the level pieces on ESEII (Esrael Sonic Editor II). But some backgrounds may be too advanced for me and I have to go on Gens to get them. I may need different Sonic hacking utilities to get the backgrounds.
