but just for your info, in my country and ethnic tribe it is called "Batik"

Your country has a great connection to my country for example.. if I am not mistaken the name "Visaya" was derived from the kingdom of "Sri Wijaya" a great kingdom who once stand on the island of Sumatra (at that time was called SvarnaBhumi - before 10th century or something . .. according to the wikipedia I read, the people of Visaya was originated from that kingdom, they were refugees from an ancient war between Sri Wijaya and another kingdom called Majapahit. You may also notice.. our language are similar but different, such as : "Bulan, Moon" , "Matahari, Sun" ... Asu.. dog.. basically we have the same ancestral roots.. same with singaporeans and malaysians

"Srinadi" is an example of our culture (by our meaning-asian, which I am sure.. she is also somehow known in your country with a different name and appearance)

well ... people in the past.. "lets make bla bla bla so that our descendants get confused and we will laugh at them in the heavens" lol

Majapahit? Sounds like it involves Gajah Mada (whom happens to represent your country for Civilization V: Brave New World) and his big empire of back then. I do recall that he conquered most of what is now modern Indonesia and parts of the Philippines for example, which would mean that the refugees of the Sri Wijaya fled to the middle archipelago of my country and became the various tribes and peoples that call it home. (I'm a Waray myself, from the Leyte region) 

If you could find time to find out more about the Sri Wijaya people please bring those materials to my attention. I'll be doing some research myself, but I'd like to see a more complete South-East Asian perspective (and one of our neighbors) know of our own past.

If about language.. I cannot find any online evidence, how I know them is because I've been in your country twice, and it was weird first time knowing that some Tagalog words are identical to my own "Javanese Ethnic" and sometimes also identical to my wife's ethnic (she is from North Sumatera). Back then I realised the influences of both Majapahit and Sriwijaya to your country was true. Like "Gajah Mada" said, He will unite the entire "Nusantara - all south east asia" and he did , he took a vow called "Palapa" which now that is the name of our telecomunication satelite in space to honor his vow.

Unfortunatelly.. like all kings in the middle age and before, once they have full power over everything... they then.. forget everything LOL, 1 mistake leads to another which then eventually crumbles the empire, through corruption, collusion and nepotism (a very familar concept even until modern day now which happens to all of our 'democratic' governments).

note: Gajah Mada's origin is not very well known... some rumors said that he is actually from China motherland, which explains his prowness in physical battle and strategic command.
